Overall Rating
Don’t take your RV there, it will ruin your transmission. It is very steep, road condition is really bad, why would you go there if you can park at shell gas station which is also surrounded by mountains on flat land.

Overall Rating
Long muddy access road. 4x4 was needed but it was raining. The last two hills to the top are steep. Beautiful isolated spot with views of the surrounding white capped mountains. Trash was full upon arrival but ranger came by and emptied the next morning. Bathroom was fairly clean. Some mining noise all hours of the day but it is faint.

Nice quiet spot on the top of Garnet Hill looking down over the high desert 20 minutes from Ely, NV. The road up is fairly straightforward for most vehicles. Nice quiet spot on the top of Garnet Hill looking down over the high desert 20 minutes from Ely, NV.
The road up is fairly straightforward for most vehicles. Wouldn’t suggest going up if towing anything.
There a number of areas to pull off with a small RV and many good tent sites. We stayed in our RV in the parking lot on our own. There were a few fossickers but they left well before dark. There is a pit toilet and bins. The area is quite clean. The views are fabulous.
Great spot to stay on your way travelling through Ely.
