I have AT&T and there is hardly any service. But it’s a short drive back into Tombstone. The views of the Dragoon MTNs are amazing!! The sites are spread apart and it was very peaceful to stay here. Nice hiking trails everywhere!! Just go slow on middlemarch road, it’s a rough one!!

The smaller the rig the more choices you have like any boondocking you do. I pull a 26’ TT and didn’t see any big class A’s but you would have plenty of room for them. More than half the site’s, your only view is the beautiful Dragoon mountains and not your neighbors. The locals love it up here as well, so their is some daytime traffic.
The real reason I wanted to add a review was nothing was mentioned on T-Mobile cell signal. Mine bounced around between 1 and 2 bars but like my Verizon which had 3 would totally loose downloads for no apparent reason. All I could think of it’s a busy tower.

Of our 5 different camping sites on our trip to southern AZ, this one was by far the best. A beautiful, whimsical playground of rock laden mountains, massive peanut shaped boulders, interesting deciduous trees, and sweeping grassland. Campsites were large, level, and full of fun attributes. Relatively easy 25 min drive from Tombstone and the first sites you come to are very easy to access off the main forest road, BUT to get to the best sites up against the rocks, you really want at least a high clearance vehicle if not a 4x4. We have neither and incurred a little bit of damage getting to our site. Good Verizon 4g coverage. Would love to have been able to spend a few more days here.

Arrived a Friday afternoon, really quite and most all sites occupied. Found a little spot on a spur for an access to another non used trail road. Pretty busy cars coming and going but all in all very quiet. In the evening all quiet and an awesome view of the Dragoon mountains. Definitely will return but need a toy to explore the mountains for old mining sites. Marshburn road very wide and accessible a little washboard went at around 20 mph. Cell coverage good enough to work with.

Many sites along the road. Followed a road grader so the roads were in good shape. From Monday to Thursday was very quiet. Had horse back riders a few times. Would definitely return as it’s close to Tombstone.

About 11 miles from Tombstone. Road into the BLM is rough but my MH had no issues. Would be an issue when wet.
Lovely view of the Dragoon Mts. Took the Middlemarch road east over the pass. It is rough and would not recommend going over with an RV.

Stayed here 2/5/20 to 2/17/20. This is one of those reviews I'm reluctant to write because I don't want this place to get overpopulated, but at the same time I recognize that if someone hadn't written it for me I never would have found it. So I'm just going to echo what others have said and say that this place is amazing. The Dragoon mountains are gorgeous and there is endless hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. It is definitely a trek getting out there, with about 10 miles of gravel/dirt roads. I didn't think Middlemarch road was bad at all, but it had some washboarded areas. I guess it could be an issue if you're in a big hurry, but if you just take it slow it's not bad. FR 687 was quite rutted and bumpy in spots though. If you're like me and have a trailer you will want to find a spot off the main road. The side roads were too rough to get in with a trailer (at least when I was there), but luckily there are quite a few huge sites right off 687.
During the time I was here (early February) it could get quite cold at night. The first few nights were in the high teens low 20's, and we actually got a bit of snow one night. Towards the end of my stay it warmed up a lot though.
While you're here, definitely make the trip out to Council Rocks. I rode my mountain bike out there and it was really cool to see. I also recommend going out and hiking around on the boulders. Watching the sunsets from up there was one of my favorite parts about this site. Another sidenote, but the brewery in Tombstone has surprisingly awesome beer and is super dog friendly. I would definitely stock up before coming here though because even though Tombstone has a great brewery, they don't have a grocery store. You have to go to Benson or Sierra Vista for most supplies.
Overall it's a long bumpy road to get out there, and everything you own will be covered in a layer of dust, but that's the price you pay for such an amazing spot.

If you don’t have a 4wd vehicle you will be fine. Just make sure you are watching out for the weather because if it rains, there’s no way you could make it back there. We have a Chevrolet Sonic 2012, and made it back to the campsite with no problem. If we would have went earlier in the week, we probably would have gotten stuck because it had rained a lot!
If you love to mountain bike, hike and even rock climbing, this is a perfect location for you.

We stayed just one night (10/27/19) The other reviews pretty well summed it up.
The road in is pretty rough but take your time, besides you shouldn't be in a hurry anyway. If you are looking for a get away for a few days this could be your spot.
We would/will come again. And Tombstone is close by for a reallt cool day.
