There was a small berm on the east side of the road that took a couple of attempts to avoid scraping our hitch. The clearing provided sufficient solar and Starlink coverage.
The road in had various other sites and was fairly washboarded. Zero cell phone service on TMobile or ATT with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna.
If we stayed again, we'd try for a site closer to the start of the road but they were all occupied. USFS rangers were seen patrolling the roads on our first day. Dust was an issue, but that was due to high winds.

The folks at the store were super friendly and we were asking them about campgrounds. They informed us that the official campground was likely full (which it turns out was true.
We started south on 67 again and came to FR22. We turned west and went up a decent gravel road and noticed some campsites on our right, but we couldn't fit in them. We decided we would turn around at the next opportunity. 2 miles west on FR22 we came to a cross roads (I believe it was FR270). At the intersection of FR22 and FR270 there were a dozen of so campsites that would fit almost any rig. Sites were fairly level. We picked on on the south side of FR22 and the west side of FR270. Site had a fire pit. During the day there was a bit of traffic on FR22, but it didn't bother us. If I recall, the North Rim Grand Canyon was only 15 to 20 minutes from the campsite.
Nights we quiet and peaceful, even though there were 6 or so other campers in the area.
Bill & Joy would stay here again

Taking the 67 south, Service Road 22 is 4 miles north of the Grand Canyon park entrance. We went west on the 22, uphill 2 miles, and came to a crossroads of the 270. The road is a nice gravel road, minimal bumps; easy with larger rigs. There is a campsite on the corner of 22 and 270, which is not recommended since there was more traffic than expected. The side of the road is groomed with burms on the side, which would be difficult for large rigs to maneuver over, but easy for tent or camper shells. We used low spots in the burm to determine camping spots suitable for our 34ft fifth wheel. There are a few camping spots along the way that were occupied. We stayed approx. 1.5-2 miles down 270 in a large dirt lot. The spot was surprisingly level; leveling blocks were not needed. Fire ring was present. There was occasional traffic, but overall quiet. A thunderstorm came through, and the road and spot were not muddied or difficult to navigate because of the rain. Forest Service appeared twice, which gave us peace of mind when leaving our rig to tour the North Rim for a few hours. Cell service for AT&T and Verizon is non existent, and the only service we had was back at Jacobs Lake.
Overall, if you are able to boondocks, fire road 270 offers good options.
