I know this will sound crazy but there are a couple of hikes in this park that are as good as any we've done in the Rockies. Maybe not quite as dramatic in scale, but just as beautiful in its own way. Sites can be a little tight in some loops but overall nicely laid out. Bath houses are a mix of old and new but even the older ones were clean and well maintained.

We returned to Fall Creek Falls with the grandkids for 3 nights in July. Despite record heat near Nashville, the temps at the Park were tolerable and we did now even require AC in our rig. We would again report the great variability in the sites in the campground, with A, B and E being most suitable for RVs. Some of the bath houses are older like the one in E and could use some updating, but our site was large, wooded and private and mostly level. We would recommend sites in E and in B for most RVs so choose carefully. We did a lot of hikes and the highlight was going to the bottom of the falls. We did have cell service and WiFi in the campground, which worked well

We enjoyed our trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park. As with all parks, there are pros and cons to the park and facilities: Pros: The hiking in the park is excellent. You can be as simple as getting out of your car and walking across the parking lot to view the falls from above or as extreme as hiking to the bottom of the falls or the very extreme challenge of the Cable Trail, which is literally a cable that helps you go down a rock face trail. (hearty hikers only here!) The park is very large and has abundant wildlife. There is a nice lake and a brand new Welcome Center. There is also a pool, camp store (well provisioned!), outfitter store (more souvenirs than outfitting really). The staff was friendly and helpful and our bathhouse was spotless the whole time. Cons: The campground is not the best laid out I have seen in a state park. It has little cul de sacs in many places that make it seem a bit crowded and the spot we were in (D190) was pretty close to the neighbors even though it was on a cul de sac. We did OK but we are a bit used to wide open spaces in our state parks in Georgia and this was just a bit out of our norm. Many of the sites are very unlevel. We saw campers with very high blocking and/or tongues just about on the ground. Now, they are not all that unlevel, but you want to check that before you book your site. Be sure you either have one of the more level sites or you have the wherewithal to level a camper on a challenging site. The restaurant and inn are both closed for renovation. No issue for us as we usually do our own cooking but I know a lot of folks really like the restaurant on site. I hear it is very good for a publicly owned eatery. We had a great time but it won’t be the highest on our list for a return visit, but certainly not marked off our list. In fairness to FCFSP, it was the week of the 4th and the place was full. That always makes any campground seem a bit tighter than it might ordinarily seem. Overall a good camping experience!

We had a nice quiet spot close by the restrooms (that were always clean) and to the park amenities. Campground D was great! It was a smaller area and seemed to have older retired campers there… that kept to themselves but were friendly. If you have kids that like to play with other kids the campground A is a close walk where there is a huge playground and open field (but very busy and had a lot of families). We loved our location. Our kids loved being close to the action, and we loved a more quiet area. There was plenty of road for our boys to ride their bikes. Did I mention that the restrooms/bathhouse was clean! Very nice! We appreciate that since we don’t use our Popup toilet.
WiFi was strong 💪🏻. The router was next to the site.
Cell service was great for ATT and Verizon.
The village shops and visitor center was a short drive or walk.
They empty out the trash through the week at the site entrance.
We saw campground staff daily driving around and making sure things are good.
We felt very welcomed.
Overall it was a win-win setup for us!

Nice campground. Great park! Good hiking and biking. Beautiful lake. Must pay $5 to use your own kayak. Site was sloped and sewer hookup was to far forward to allow backing all the way in. Good trees for hanging a hammock.

Overall we enjoy off the beaten path destinations more, but the hikes were cool, falls were beautiful, and the campground was clean.

We camped here 10/19-10/23 and the foliage was quite lovely. But as others have mentioned you have to be very careful choosing a site. Ours was on what we would consider the family loop. It was an awkward site, terribly hard to find but finally after asking park staff we found it adjacent to the field and playground. We were basically perpendicular to the row next to us and the trees were so close we couldn't open our awning. The site would be good for a family with kids because the field and playground are right there. The trails were plentiful (but very crowded) so we did enjoy exploring the park. We saw a lot of unlevel sites (some dangerously unlevel) but Loop B seemed to be the best with the most room between sites and much quieter. Recommend visiting the Mennonite community nearby; the general store had a lot of goodies, fresh fruit and veggies.
New Visitor Center was very nice; check in was easy. Bathrooms were OK; didn't use showers.

The site was relatively even and peaceful. Sites are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded. Our big window on the back of our camper looked out over the woods so it felt like we were all by ourselves. The site was just big enough for our rig and truck. Anything bigger would not fit.

Huge amount of space between sites And on our side complete woods in back of site
Picnic table and small grill you can add your own charcoal
There are only a few paved sites in this are and 2 are handicapped
The rest of the sites are rough and uneven. Sites need leveled and fresh gravel put down. It took us 3 times to try to level our Leisure Unity. I would give the site a 3 rating.
Note on map there is a main road on one side of sites. It’s busy and noisy, much less sound on our side.
Showers a minute away. Some of the largest we have ever used. A hanging rack for your towel and a seated are to place your personal belongings.
Found our trash out of can on ground so think we had a visit from Boo Boo bear.
Easy walk to visitor center and store.
If you are in good shape definitely walk to the Falls. Worth it. Good signage, we took the bike path when we got close. You can also drive to them.
There are always vehicles picking up trash, etc. You have your Own trash can, no dumpster drop off.
Free internet.
Impressed with this TN state park.
