We really enjoy this campground and the proximity to a lot of activities (fishing, hiking, quaint town, pickleball, disc golf, restaurants (try "Square Root"), breweries. We have been here several times and will return. Limited partial hookup sites (they go fast) with most sites no hookups. Sites are large, private, clean, and level with several sites just off the river. Bath houses are dated, but kept clean and have great water pressure for showers. You may or may not have cell coverage depending on your site. The best we found on T-Mobile was 2 bars, but several sites had 0 to 1 bar of 4G.

The site was level and easy to park our trailer as a result. it was a large site not too close to other sites but very wide open. Other sites were more wooded, quiet and secluded. Bathrooms were well maintained. Some sites were close to the river that ran through the campground. The staff were very friendly. We will return but choose a different site.
The campground was located not too far from Blue Ridge Parkway and very nice waterfalls and hiking trails.

I didn’t have a reservation, but was able to get a water / electric site. It was a peaceful campground, although I could hear generators running in a loop nearby. It was nice that there were a few trails you could do right out of the campground. Also close proximity to DuPont, recreational Forest and the hikes in Pisgah national Forest.

Great location for a campground with lots of recreational activities to do, hike, mtb, road bike, fish, waterfalls etc. Campground is quite large but was very quiet for our one week stay. There seems to be room for many sizes of campers. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The bathrooms could definitely use some updating and deep down cleaning. Verizon service was very spotty within the park.

Davidson River is in the Pisgah National Forest. So the campground is run by a concession (Pisgah Adventures) I stayed on Sycamore Loop in site 010. Water is available in the loop, but not in the site. The dump station is easy access. I drive a 35 ft Class A, towing a Mini Cooper S Clubman. I was hooked up when I left and still made the dump station easily.
There are hiking and biking trails aplenty. Most of the follow the river. Bikes are not allowed on some sections, well marked. Adjacent to the campground is the Pisgah Ranger Station, info, maps and a small gift shop. Folks there were friendly and helpful. As of my visit, you have to wear a mask inside. Masks are available at the door.
Also there is the English Chapel. Unique old church rebuilt in the 40's from stone carried from all over the South East US. Interestingly. The name "English Chapel" is made out of stone right over the door.
Although I said Compendium has the wrong address, it was really my GPS that took me to the wrong place. My CopilotGPS had never led me astray before, but this time it did. I am going to leave the following info hare as it does include the help of a very friendly local, and as I stated, he said this has happened before. Again, for clarification the Compendium Address is CORRECT
Biggest disadvantage is that Campendium has the wrong address. I used the address on the Campendium site (usually accurate) and that took me to 1 Davidson River Circle. I made a left and the GPS alerted me that a low bridge (9'3") was directly in front of me. There is space to turn around (I had to disconnect the toad to avoid a power pole and some mud puddles). A friendly gentleman stopped and asked if I was looking for the campground. He stated "This happens all the time" He then led me to it (I had passed the turn following the GPS).

We stayed here with four other couples for a long weekend, and really enjoyed our stay. Some of us went on the great area mountain bike trails, and we all enjoyed the walking trails. Nearby Brevard has a lot to offer. We did not have water or sewer, and the cell service was simply awful.

Those areas along the Davidson River have to put up with traffic noise from US 276 which is especially bad on weekends with motorcycles and sport cars competing to see who can make the most noise. Quiet after dark. Traditional swimming hole with sandy beach and bottom and an area to swim in deep water against the current. Hiking along the river on well maintained trail is a real pleasure.

The Davidson River is a great spot to relax and take a swim, there is a swimming hole at the furthest end of the campground from the front gate. It can be a bit of a walk if you're campsite is in the front loops as there's no parking near the swimming area.
Restroom facilities were adequate and relatively clean, and never crowded. There are several families that were staying so there was occasional noise, but nothing out of the ordinary for a campground like this. Everyone respected quiet hours also.
Some of the front site loops looked like they had recently clear cut several trees, so some sites did not have much shade. I would recommend staying in the loops further to the back of the campground.
Would highly recommend and will stay here again the next time I visit Pisgah.

What a wonderful camp ground! The staff at the gate know their camp ground very well. This was the "maiden voyage" for my new vardo / gypsy wagon and I was not quite used to backing up the trailer just yet. The camp staff listened to me and suggested a site that was not only easy to access, but also not in a busy section so I did not feel pressured to get it right quickly. I am sure there were a few watchers who got a good chuckle from watching me attempt to back up the trailer.
Tip on the Showers:
The showers activate from a push button that has a built in timer, push the button 1 to 2 times before attempting to shower. This way the water is warm. There is no shower curtain to control splash either, so plan ahead for it.
The camp ground also requires that you keep all untended food and non-bear safe food containers in a locked vehicle. If you leave out a cooler the camp staff will pick it up. If you need more information on camping with/in the area of bears the camp staff will happily give it to you.
The only negative, and really I expected it, was that I had no cell service once I entered the Pisgah National Park grounds; Davidson River Campgrounds are a part of this. However as soon as you leave the park grounds there is a Walmart and Bi LO (grocery store), so if you forgot something or have to restock it is really convenient.

DO NOT GO TO 1 Davidson River Circle. Important. There is a 9'6" bridge right after the turn off. And it is about 4 mies past the turn off o the campground. Which is a really nice campground, BTW. But that address is WRONG. Friendly hosts, easy back in., I am in a 35 ft motorhome towing a Mini.
