Coles Creek State Park Campground

Site was on the river and beautiful. Large ships pass by often and the area has several wineries and breweries and a few good restaurants. We had a great experience with the staff and our fellow campers were friendly and very helpful. We have booked a site again for this fourth of July. Can't wait to return.

This campground is conveniently located near the Thousand Island region here in NY. There are several campgrounds closer to the Thousand Islands that we would recommend you check out first before you select this one. Those were entirely booked up, so we were left with this campground.

Upon arrival we noticed how BUSY this campground was. There was barely any privacy between sites, everything was so open there was nothing relaxing about it. The staff at the check in building weren't the friendliest, I understand these are hard times but would it hurt to shed a smile? Be a tad bit welcoming? Also, there is no convenient place to fill up on water. There are several spigots located throughout the park, however you almost have to block the road to fill up unless there is one close enough to your site, which for us it was not.

The best thing about this location was its proximity to the Thousand Islands. Other than that, unfortunately, this campground would be a hard pass for us in the future.
