However, clearly BLM doesn’t regularly maintain the place given lack of use because the grass was shin high and it was that grass with burrs that stick to everything. Luckily we didn’t bring the dogs this time.
If you follow that road a little bit it sweeps to the right and down below the sites described above. There are three sites down there and we stayed at site 6 which is private and has a large “stove” and fire pit. Sites 4 and 5 also have fire pits and are even closer to the creek. I suspect there are a few more sites down there across the creek as I saw a Jeep disappear into site 5 and never re-materialize. 🤔
If you go down to sites 4, 5 and 6, check it out first depending on your trailer size. I had to finagle a couple of ugly k-turns to get my Tacoma and 22’ Winnie turned around.
We stayed in mid July. 90 during the day, 60’s at night. LOTS of bugs due to the creek. We’ll bring a screen house of some type next time.
There’s also another road with a small group site that looked nice but was full when we were there.
Additionally, there’s a camp are B but the creek was very swollen from the previous days thunder storms so we didn’t cross it to get there.
Will stay again but will try winter camping or screen room.
Thewookie would stay here again

The sign posted in previous review of spot locations does not seem to be up to date, we stayed in #10 and found a #11, neither are on the map. Had to back our toyhauler in, but no problem. There were about 6 other campers, but no one near us. I think we had the only spot with a little beach/dry ground our dogs and cat liked going to waters edge and getting their paws wet. We did drive down the Forrest Road a little ways, crossed the creek twice in our Ford Expedition, it was all beautiful. We have Google Fi phones and had pretty good reception for at least text msg.'s.

This was a diamond in the rough. We were up top in one of the pull-throughs. Would have stayed longer if we'd had the time. No cell service with our Verizon which was okay with us.
Hikerjenn would stay here again

Nice, a little out of the way, but clean. BLM land, dry with shade at the top ones, limited sizes on the ones in gully. Careful, sites are smaller below, might walk them first if in a Big rig. Watch your Nav as Google had it wrong, had if off of Hwy 50, not correct, reported and believed changed.
