Overall Rating
Like many NoDak state wildlife management areas, this one prohibits camping on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, except holidays.
There are no established sites. Just find a spot somewhere in the grass that you like and set up shop. If you look closely, you'll find a couple of stone fire rings. Equipment of any size can find a place to set up.
I backed onto the little peninsula near the dam and had a very quiet couple of nights.
The WMA is quite clean. I picked up only a few pieces of trash that had floated to shore. Other than waves lapping against the shore, it's about as quiet as you can get out in nature.
The road in from the paved highway is a gravel road in excellent condition and is passable by anything.
