Large and level campsites set on a winding creek offering full hookups. Very personable on-site owners. 2 very nice and clean bathrooms. Nice hiking trails and quaint little town. Several wineries nearby.

Great campground that is very quiet and relaxing. Very well maintained with a lot of nice little touches that make it nice. Our site was long and level it faced a woods creating privacy. The owners are so friendly and inviting. The area is pretty cool with several wineries as well as hiking trails.

Our stay at Byrd’s Branch was the second leg of our first multi-stop trip in April 2023. We arrived on Monday and the lady at the check-in was very helpful. She showed us where our site was and gave us paperwork on things to do in the area. We really appreciate that information since it was our first visit to the area. The campground was excellent. Everything was clean and the site was easy to back into. The utilities worked great, even the Wi-Fi for use with our TV. There is a stream at the back of the sites that was beautiful. The fire ring was behind the site near the stream. They have a trail to walk the dog along and there are trails to a water fall and winery from the campground. We enjoyed seeing the cows in the pasture next door where we could see the calf feeding.
The location of this campground is great. There are short drives to Stone Mountain, Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain and the Blueridge Parkway. We visited these places and had time to check out the Grassy Creek Winery and Skull Camp Brewing.

We've stayed here several times over the years, and I highly recommend this campground. Sometimes we've stayed here just overnight passing through, and also stayed longer at times to explore the area. We reserved online and since we were fully paid, Larena said OK to go directly t campsite. Site 12 is water & electric and faces the field, so very private. So quiet at night!
Campground wi-fi was good, I got about 9Mbps down, enough to stream youtube or the like.

Small campground with maybe 15 gravel sites. Amazing owners. Cleanest bathrooms/showers ever! Mimosas on the deck each Saturday. Hiking to waterfalls, near wineries, very peaceful. Going back in October for my third visit.

Byrd’s Branch is an awesome little campground just outside of Elkin, NC which offers both back-in and pull-through sites. Such a beautiful and park like property – very well maintained. The area between the bubbling branch and the campsites is very unique and we found the facilities to be very nice and clean. All of the sites were a nice size and our site was very level. The Wi-Fi provided worked wonderfully and we had decent reception through T-Mobile. We stayed in Site #2 in a Travel Trailer. The owners of the campground are equally awesome, helping us feel welcome and cared for.
Elkin Valley is quickly becoming known not only for its wineries, but also for its great trails. Trails that include the 1175 mile “Mountain to Sea Trail” that runs right through this campground. Conveniently located to nearby downtown Elkin. Definitely recommend and looking forward to our next stay!

Based on the great reviews on Campendium this seemed like a great option while on the way to Florida. And it was! The weather was really wet the day I arrived so I sent a text to give them an ETA and to "check-in" so I could go straight to my site. The signage to get there was really good which is a detail often overlooked. The office/country store is on one side of the road (along with the tenting area and playground) and the RV section is on the other side. Access to all the sites is really good - they are very spacious and very well cared for. No issues with the hookups plus a really nice picnic table and big fire pit (the elevated kind). I had hoped to explore all the trails in the area but the torrential rain made things pretty muddy, as in NC red clay, so instead, I drove to Boone which was only an hour away. That afternoon I explored the property and took a bunch of photos so check them out - this is a really scenic location with the creek running behind the back-in sites and through the tenting area. There was minimal road traffic. There was wifi but quite slow but allowed for WiFi calling. The overlay map showed AT&T & T-Mobile in the area but I wasn't able to get a T-Mobile signal. I hooked the Nighthawk hot spot up to the MIMO antenna and when pointed to towards the tower (behind me while in spot 11) I consistently got 10-15 MBPS down and 1-2 MBPS up. I didn't try my booster. But there wasn't much in the way of foliage this time of year. Starlink would probably be fine on most of the sites though. I stayed two nights in pull-through site 11 on February 12-14, 2023.
I should add that making a reservation via Campspot is pretty easy, and you do get to select a spot but fairly late in the process. Just keep clicking through and you'll get to a page where the available sites are shown.

Nice campground. Well kept. We only stayed a couple of nights. The wifi was good. Verizon service was descent. Forgot to run a speed test.
I was in a 41' fth wheel. My spot (9) was accessible and fairly level.
We will return.

My husband and I came across the campground by hiking the trail that goes through it from the Grassy Creek Winery to Carter Falls. We stopped in, checked it out and made reservations for Halloween weekend. Check-in was super easy. Our first night there we were amazed at how quiet it was. So much so we slept in until 8:30am. The trails are nice to hike. You can hike to Grassy Creek Winery, Skull Camp Brewery or Carter Falls. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The store is well stocked with camping essentials. I think I counted 12 RV sites that are very spacious. We stayed on Site 10 but any site will do. They are all nice. We walked through the tent camping area. That too was spacious and clean. I believe there are 4 tent sites. Saturday was Halloween so the kiddos came around to each camp site trick or treating. Afterward, they projected Ghostbusters on a screen for all the campers to watch. It was a lot of fun. If you don't want to hike, you can always drive the short distance to Elkin and walk the main street. Nice shops and eateries. The owners, Dwaine and Larena run a nice campground. I would highly recommend Byrd Branch Campground. We are already looking into camping there next Spring. Paul & Valerie

Bryd's Branch was a wonderful campground. To me it is exactly what a campground should be. We were in site 2 and our friends were in site 3 and 4. These sites only have water and electric. Both are strong. My husband did not have to use our booster for electricity. Sites 1 thru 7 back into the trees. The day we came was early afternoon and we had shade to set up everything. Behind the sites are trees, firepit, and creek. Very clean and neat in this area too. Well maintained. We were able to put up three hammocks with the ability to converse with each other. Plus sleep. Each site has grass and trees between them. It also seemed that the sites were staggered so you could not see directly into the next camper from your camper. There are hiking trails that can be accessed right from the campground. Elkin is just a few miles from the campground. Plus Stone Mountain is very close also. The bathrooms are so clean and decorated so that you feel like you are at home. Smell good too. My husband and I camp somewhere different every other weekend and these are the cleanest bathrooms I have seen.
The camp store has ice cream, sodas, candy, shirts, and of course some camping supplies. The camp store porch has rocking chairs. They also have corn hole and disc golf. Pickleball is close by too.
Sites 8 thru 12 are pull through with plenty of ability to get sun for those that have solar panels. Sites 5 thru 12 are full hookup too.
The owners are nice and easy to talk to.
This place is one of my top 5. I want to go back soon and stay longer.
