Campground exceeded our expectations. Being able to have a creek-side campfire every night was a great experience. Now one of our favorite campgrounds.

We ended up camping here for a month and our experience was just what other reviewers said...wonderful! This is a small (@ 18 sites) family oriented campground that is surrounded by hiking trails and wineries. All sites have water and electric, and about half the sites have sewer hook ups. There are pull thru sites for the largest of rigs and quaint sites for tents. All sites are gravel base. We stayed here for the month of September in a site without sewer which was not a problem. $25 was the monthly rate for site 4. I called about 3 months in advance and there was not a FHS available. The weekends get rather busy and the weekdays were steady. The campground is close to US 21 and 5 minutes from grocery store.
New owners took over in April and they are always working to keep the place well manicured and clean. Over the Labor Day weekend they held an ice cream social in the open area where corn hole boards are readily available for anyone wishing to play. They offer a washer and dryer for a nominal fee and the bath houses are super clean. There is a path behind their county store that either takes you to Carter Falls or to Grassy Creek Winery.
Stone Mountain SP is about 20 minutes away plus there are some great wineries within 30 minutes, some that offer dining. The Italian Wine Fest at Raffaldini Vineyards is an annual event worth visiting if you are here in September. There is a 12 mile bike trail in Mt Airy too. We plan to return next year for another stay.

We stayed a few days prior to the Memorial Day weekend. Only three other rigs in the campground. Our site backed up to a small creek. Good spacing between sites. Owners are on site and very helpful.Immaculate bathrooms and showers. A number of trails close by though we did not use them.

During our stay the week day we were almost by ourselves the whole time. Weekends fill up. We met some Fantastic people here . The road off of the highway is narrow but thankfully you’re not on it for long. Owners are extremely hospitable and friendly . If we are in the area again, without a doubt we would return.

We walked the tent grounds while we were there and they were very nice as well. EASY walking distance to beautiful falls. My husband was 4 weeks out from total hip replacement surgery and was able to make this walk with no problem. Everything was nice and clean. Our visit was short, however we did manage to make it to Dodge City Steakhouse (strongly recommended) and to Skull Camp Brewery for lunch on Sunday. Both were great food choices and only minutes from the campground. We thoroughly enjoyed our get away!

This is a great place for a short term stay (not long term). The park is quiet, small, clean, and the staff are very friendly. We had LARGE amounts of fruit flies and stink bugs - partly due to the farm next door and partly due to the surrounding woods. It was a constant battle for the 2 weeks we were there, just to keep the bugs coming into the RV down to a minimum. (Note- we were there during hurricane Michael, and the rains could have amp'd up the bugs).
The park is well maintained, the spaces have large ares and you don't feel over crowded, but the site pads are a bit un-level, most of them have a high front to back slope. There is an extreme hill coming into and out of the park. Each of the sites along the river have really nice fire pit/picnic areas. The sites in the middle are super long and give you plenty of room for big rigs and extra cars. If its rainy season, choose a high spot in the middle, as the creek filled and almost came over the embankment and into camp.
The owners were very nice. They deliver wood to your site, they pick up trash at your site, they are always greeting you and checking in on you, and they clean and maintain the park every day.
They have free wifi, which works really well. Cell service is decent for the area. The camp store offers fire wood, ice, ice cream, and misc. The Super Walmart in Elkin is just 10 minutes away, and is very large and very nice. The town of Elkin is clean and offers several choices of restaurants, services, activities, etc.
Most of the campers are locals, and they were are ALL super friendly and treat you as one of their own. There is a trailhead just up the road from camp, that is a short 1/2 mile walk into the woods, to the local falls. Stone Mountain is only 20 minutes away, and has some of the best hiking trails we have seen.
