“Easy access windy location”

We were surprised with the charge of $18 for the night. Pit toilets, well stocked and clean, picnic tables covered in seagull droppings and fire pits. Boat launch if needed. We loved the area except for the wind which increased during the night. Not sure if it is always windy here but it is very open range land on a large reservoir. This would be great for overnight again some other time but I would not spend any longer due to the price. Follow the signs from Bynum which is only a few miles on a good gravel road.

“Looking straight up at rocky Mtn Frontal Range - DNR fishing/hunting access point”

Sitting on the edge of the frontal range on the east side of "the BoB" (Bob Marshall Wilderness Area). Remote and a long way from Augusta or Choteau, but worth the long dusty drive through ranch country into the foothills.
Located on the Teton River which is damned here for a wildlife and cattle watering facility. The DNR has been taking over nearby ranches as they become available using the land and fauna for winter elk range. Lots of grizzly sign, bring spotting scopes or glasses to look at the front.
This was also a migration route for early man in his move down from the Bering Straights froim Siberia/Europe. This is rugged country.
Tomp would stay here again
