Overall Rating

There is a small rest area in the parking lot of the Choteau Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center ( 47.820964, -112.189488) where you can actually drive around a building to turn around but it's not the best spot for big rigs towing.

This large gravel parking lot is better for the big rigs: easy in and out. On the corner of Hwy 89 and Airport Road, right next to The Stage Stop Inn (property is separated by a row of trees). Be advised you are about 50-60 feet away from a railroad track though no trains came through the entire time I was there.

Walking distance to a coffee shop (literally 2 minutes walking slow at best), ice cream, drug store, grocery store, museum and even the city park which has a wonderful creek running through it.

This is not an actual "camping spot" but I did stay for 2 nights on my way from Yellowstone to Glacier National Park. Cute little town and the cops didn't bother me. I do not set out lawn chairs or anything like that and I'd be a hesitant to make it look like an actual camping spot. Most people just pull in, walk their dogs, etc, maybe spend one night and then move on. This is a very "don't blink or you'll miss it" small town.
