Yes, it's expensive, but everything in Key West is sort of expensive. In this case you really get a great RV camping experience for your money.

Roosters you ask? we had roosters in and out of our campsite every day and all night long. they are loud, it's a wives tail that they only crow at sunrise, these damn things made noise all night long, didn't sleep good the entire stay, we won't be coming back.

We were on site #124, and although the waterfront sites are close together, we had a natural (bush) 6ft high privacy screen that made us feel quite private. There’s a reasonable sized swimming pool; excellent washing/drier facilities. Full hookups. It’s a very short drive into Key West, and we went every day on our motorcycle (which we carry on the rear of the RV). The campground is easy to access. The staff were very pleasant and always helpful. Remember to get a key lime pie from the small store! Note: the campground is relatively close to the Key West Naval Air Station, so you’re going to see and hear some jets. It didn’t detract from our stay.

We stayed a weekend in Key West and were pretty much on the move exploring the area so we didn't spend much time in the campground. They are pretty expensive but they do have a lot of amenities and a great location to Key West. Just a short 10 min drive to Duval St and the Historic downtown area. Besides staying at a state park just about every campground in the Keys is expensive so it's a pretty average price for this area. The office stays open to 11PM so if you're late you can still check in. They have guys who are on golf carts who will escort you to your spot and help you back in. The office has a lot to offer from souvenirs to camping equipment for RV's and tents to food items. Very convenient if you're in a pinch or just don't want to get out of the campground for something simple. They have 2 different laundry facilities. They were kept very clean and only a $1.50 a load. Bathrooms were nice, clean, and well ventilated. They don't have A/C but the weather was perfect when we were there so this wasn't an issue but I can see it being very hot in the summer time. A couple of things they had but we didn't utilize were a marina, pool, fish/lobster cleanup area, game room, a Cuban food truck and a dump station if you had a site that didn't have full hookups. The sites are extremely tight but manageable. The only thing we didn't enjoy about this campground is that they have a dog breed restriction due to insurance. Which we understand but it still sucks because we rarely run into this problem since we stay at a lot of state/city parks, national parks, etc. where they don't have this rule. We have a 12 year old Doberman who travels everywhere with us and has really bad anxiety. We ended up boarding her and our other dog just so she wouldn't be by herself at Abigail & Stitch which is like a 2 minute drive down the street. They did a great job and we would definitely use them again if we were to stay here again.

The bad: we have a Class B, so we don’t need a big space, but we were shoved into the smallest parking space ever. It’s really just a giant parking lot. We’ve been all over the country and we have seen small spots and I understand space being a commodity, but this was absurd….and for $168 a night.
Loved the National Park, but wouldn’t go back to Boyd’s.

We're not sure what the attraction is with this campground which sits in a fairly industrial area of town off the highway. It is extremely crowded and noisy - spaces are really tight and you can practically touch your neighbor. The noise from Hwy 1 is very loud, but not as bad as the planes that roar overhead from early morning to late at night. Having said that the staff is attentive and friendly and the facilities are clean. No recycling of any kind so the garbage areas are often overflowing. Key West is extremely crowded and busy, and has lost a lot of its charm. Part of the low rating is due to the very high prices for a campground.

It is cramped in, but they have done a great job of providing as much privacy as possible with plants, fences and such. Some really great spots right on the water, but a few against the street or across from the maintenance area that are not so great. Has a few chickens/roosters running around which make a lot of stupid noise in the early morning. Also near the airport with lots of air traffic, but it is what it is. Showers and bath is great, pool is wonderful, the front desk is open till 10 and that is way convenient. The people are very nice and helpful (don’t understand one of the posts here complaining). Roads and sites are smooth and level with concrete pads. WIFI is the best ever. I would give them five stars, but the rooster irritated me.

Today in the morning as September 2nd, we called the office for a refund as they said they would be happy to help before but it has been 7 weeks and they are not helping at all. They hang up phones on you, very afraid to tell you their names as they know that they are charged for something bad. There are other RV campgrounds in Key West where you can get great service from! The only reason they are on top of google search because they are paying google ads, which shows on the little corner, so do not fool for it.

We have enjoyed our stay at Boyds. I tried to find a less expensive option, but camping in Key West in January is expensive and we accepted that is a cost of doing business. This campground is so well run and really pretty. We dont normally stay in tight commercial sites, so I was so excited to have Will there at check in. He led us to the site and walked us through the back-in (it was tight!). He was very helpful with information on the area, and we had some technical problems with our RV, and Will gave us great advice on how/where to get assistance. What a great start to our stay!
Sites: The sites are packed in BUT there is typically a palm tree or some vegetation between most of them - just enough to provide a little privacy. Our site was on the water so it was nice to have the bay as a back view. Each sight has a concrete pad with table.
Grounds: Considering the limited space, this place is incredibly beautiful. Very clean, full of vegetation. The location is a 20-30 minute bike ride to Mallory Square - there is a wide bike path for most of the ride.
Amenities: Heated salt water pool with adult activities (water aerobics in the AM). Tiki bar, adorable restaurant area (palm trees & tables) with a nice stationary food truck (breakfast and lunch). Pool table, foosball, TVs, gift shop. Cable. Abundant bathhouses with great showers and tons of laundry stations. Good wifi. 3 bars on Verizon with no wifi.
Cons: Roosters start crowing at 6 AM (they are all over KW so you cant blame the campground). Expensive but considering the amenities/location/covid we felt like it was a good value.
After years of camping as far away from people as possible, I now realize the value of these high end commercial campgrounds. Really fun with a great vibe.
