Nice little campground on Stock Island, convenient for Key West and nestled among residential, commercial and local eateries. We enjoyed a couple of nice evening walking around the neighborhoods, stopping to eat at a couple establishments. A bit expensive compared to what we usually pay but I think that's pretty typical of this area and campground. Wi Fi was pretty good if you picked the right site (ours was one of those but was very very tight).

Why we booked: Seemed like the most solid spot for a quick stay close to Key West, which we were visiting mostly for Dry Tortugas NP.
Campground: Parking lot vibes. All the things you'd expect from a private campground in a super popular RV area: tight spots, gravel, well-run but unspectacular.
Quirks: Huge-ass iguana in the tree when we checked in. Adorable frog on our box when we left.
Site: Just barely squeezed a 27-ft trailer and heavy-duty truck in there. It's Tetris.
Nearby: Despite a Key West address, the campground is on Stock Island. A late night bike ride felt a little sketchy, and one night, a local friend we made at the bar insisted on driving us home because it wasn't a super safe place to wander around. FWIW, we had some great meals close to the campground.
Value: Yeah…probably fair. Not a lot of land to go around down there. Doesn't feel great for what you get, but that's the game.

So this is another park on the cramped side. It is however as close as you are going to get to Key West. Nice bike ride into town is a great way to see the area. The grounds are small but quaint with a pond and some shaded palapas.

This was a great basic campground that was close and convenient to Key West. The owners were very nice and friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Some of the sites are tight, but I am sure land is a premium in this location. They are about 4 miles from downtown Key West. We never used our car, but instead we were able to ride our ebikes around town every day.
They are also on a little lagoon with a mangrove tunnel river out to the channel to the ocean (channel accesses both Atlantic and Gulfside). That made it convenient for us to use our kayak.
They put us in Site 29 which was right on the lagoon and fantastic.....probably the best site in the park!
Wifi at our site was terrible, so we didn't use it. They advertise that it is available near the office and bathhouse and they indicate it is only good enough for emails, social media, etc. We forgot to check AT&T speeds, but they were good enough for us to stream youtube.

Leo's was awesome! We stayed here in early March 2019 and would definitely return. The staff was fun, friendly, and helpful during our time here. The location is as close as you're going to get to Key West and at a reasonable price, considering the location. Everything was exceptionally well-maintained and there were even periodic, fun events, such as happy hour, movie night, & trivia. There are also multiple dining and shopping options within very easy walking distance.
The only downside for us was that our site was up by the road, which was across from a party supply store that made a fair amount of noise between 7am-5pm. That being said, I would most certainly recommend this unique and fun campground!

It is about 35 to 45 min (by bike) to Duval and 10 minutes (by bike) to the beach shown on the picture above, which is a nice ride. Leo's is the cheapest and cleanest park in Key West. The friendly iguanas greet you each morning and also search each campsite for treats when campers depart. It's on a flight path so you will hear airplanes during the day. The bathrooms were clean and my husband says the men's bathroom was also clean!...which is saying something about how clean they keep things here. There are cabanas with cushioned seating and lights for night lounging. There are washers and dryers and a very nice pond with fish. I can't wait to stay here again!

We ended up here due to a long term working assignment. The owner lives on site and is super nice. While there is no pool etc. everything is well kept and it is convenient to most anything in Key West. Awesome pizza place Cafe Roostica...in walking/bike distance. Good Mexican place across the road.

“Tents not allowed”
Reviewed 6/11/2021
Called 06/11/2021 for tent camping and office personnel said they do not allow tent camping, only RVs.
Gave a one star rating only because I have to put a rating. I cannot speak to the campground.

“Couldn't book because of pet policy”
noted 1/25/2023
Leo's Campground only allows pets under 30 lbs. No exceptions. We have a highly trained 55 lb Aussiedoodle who competes in agility. He doesn't bark inappropriately or create any nuisance. We are responsible owners and good customers in many respects. We have not encountered an RV park that is so intolerant of medium and large sized dogs.
