This park is a hidden little gem!
It’s conveniently only a few minutes off of I 90 and was easy and quick access to everything we wanted to do.
The nearest town is Rapid City and that was only about a five minute drive. You can access the park at the exit 52 or 55 off of I 90 (However the exit off of 52 was much smoother).
All the sites seem to be very flat and a lot of them are along the little creek in the back area. Very quiet with wildlife, views, and starry nights.
The grass is still coming in on the newer sites, But the sites are well spaced and deep with plenty of room.
The new barn at the entrance is still under final construction and landscaping, but looks awesome.
They’re also seems to be a lot of green space to wander around on and the views are beautiful too.
All the sites are FHU with both 50 and 30 amp options with sewer & water.
The team here are really putting in a lot of effort and energy to make this an awesome park… Excited to see all the continued changes!!
PS. They also accept long terms if you’re a professional. This seems to be hard to fine in the area because everyone boot you out during the Sturgis rally or they charge you 400% more.

All the campgrounds in this area are expensive -- I guess because of all the tourism and the Sturgis ralley. We paid for the overflow parking with electric (which apparently doesn't exist), but the camp host was kind enough to give us a spot with hookups because plenty were available. We definitely needed it too, we would have been running the generator all day with the heat we had just for air conditioning. -- this alone is why I am giving the 5 star rating.
This campground is pretty much a parking lot. It looks very up and coming. They are building a barn in the front and the bathrooms look like they are under construction as well.
There were a lot of wasps/hornets so we had to keep our door closed and we didn't hang outside much. The bathroom was not great. It was clean at least, but felt dingy.
Good location though, near all the state parks, rapid city and mount rushmore.

No real updates on my review. Finally had a chance to stay at Little Jon. Owner is a sweetheart and each time I have driven by there are always improvements going on. Big time for them is the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Little Jon is only about 3-4 miles from the Harley dealer in Rapid City.

This is an interesting little park. This park is named after a 9 year old boy who passed away after an accident. Jon James Howe's grandparents were the drive behind this labor of love.
I've driven past this park over the last couple of years and every year there are improvements. Sites are gravel with plenty of room and length. FHU's. There are also large and small cabins, picnic tables, a playground, WIFI and great Verizon coverage 4 bars 30.96/11.63 mbps down/up.
And very quiet. A nice country road and nestled in the hills.
