Stopped on a weeknight and they had plenty of spots. Gate required pass card so just needed to request entry at speaker to get to office. Stayed at site 21 to be near bathroom which was older but clean. Very quiet. $45

This campsite is central if you want to share your time between Franconia and Crawford. The sites are intimate. Very quiet to rest after long days of walking. The swimming pool is greatly appreciated. The bathrooms are very clean.

Some sites are a bit tight for large trailers or 5th wheels due to lots of trees. Every site is surrounded by trees and very secluded which makes for a very quiet and peaceful campground. Some sites are a bit tight for large trailers or 5th wheels due to lots of trees. Every site is surrounded by trees and very secluded which makes for a very quiet and peaceful campground.
Having an indoor pool is really nice, it was headed enough to enjoy even when it gets cold outside. The game room was closed and it seems has been for several years now.
The camp store is moderately stocked but the owners are more than willing to give directions to the best stores, restaurants, trails or things to do.
The gravel roads could use some filling, there are a few areas with big pot holes and large bumps.

We could not stay at state campgrounds as we had a dog. Many local campgrounds were over $50 and the sites were one on top of another. This campground was great! Plenty of room in between sites. Not sure why, the place was empty! Very few other people there. It looks like they are putting some money into redoing many of the facilit... more
We could not stay at state campgrounds as we had a dog. Many local campgrounds were over $50 and the sites were one on top of another. This campground was great! Plenty of room in between sites. Not sure why, the place was empty! Very few other people there. It looks like they are putting some money into redoing many of the facilities. It was the best campground shower I have ever been in! All the campgrounds in the area seem to be next to highways. This one had many trees in between the sites and Highway. As a result, the noise was not bad. Best part is they were so few mosquitoes!
