Would my Subaru outback make it there okay? Or do I need high clearance vehicle?

I take it a 30' "A" would not be compatible with the access to the area

The sites are on a very steep hill. Very few are level. Tent pads are ok. Will not accommodate anything much larger than a Van. But the pit toilet….. omg! No toilet paper and crap everywhere! Stayed that way for 3 days. And there is a black bear roaming around at night.

Beautiful little campsite with a vault toilet close by. 🤗
Just a few miles up the mountain from Ouray.
We have the National Park Pass so it only cost us $5.00.
Would for sure stay here again.
We have a Jeep with rooftop tent and had to use some rocks to get us level in site #10.

This FCFS campground has lots of tent sites, not so many RV friendly sites. However, we happily took beautiful site 11 and tucked in Ruby RedVan! Steep gravel road up to and into the campground, but the views make it worth it. If you want to be close to Ouray but not IN Ouray, this is perfect. Wonderful access to Yankee Boy Basin and beyond. The only negative is lots of OHV noise from Camp Bird Mine Road, but that’s the way to get into the basins. There is a “no-trailer”sign, and we agree it’s not trailer friendly.

This campground is not advised if you have a big rig: we managed with our 23 foot (all in) TT, but it was a squeeze. The road is dirt, and not well maintained, somewhat steep coming in and a bit rutted. It's dusty when dry, and could get muddy when it rains. Stopping at the entrance and walking in to evaluate is wise before you commit your rig, unless your are in a class B.
Some sites have their own driveway, so you can get away from the traffic in these sites. Since the campground is off of the heavily traveled Camp Bird Road, there are lots of quads and other vehicles driving through, particularly on the weekend, so deeper into the campground is better. There is some road noise during the day, but almost none at night.
On the up side, the views are amazing even with the smoke and dust during our stay. Sitting by Angel Creek was lovely, but did require walking to the entrance area. And, at $10/night ($5 with an Interagency Pass), it's a great deal for a spot this close to Ouray.
Cell connectivity is spotty - we could make voice calls from our phones, but the only reliable connection was through our router with roof antenna, and it was fairly slow (2.9 Mbps down, 300 Kbps up on AT&T).
We will be back!
