This state park campground was one of the most beautiful campgrounds we’ve ever stayed! The fall leaves are just now showing and WOW it was a stunner! Can accommodate big sized rigs, but unfortunately no pull through sites everything is back in. Only limited amount of full service sites and they were completely taken. Potable water and dump station are at the front so don’t let the electric sites deter you from staying here! We did think it was a little pricey for a state park - $42.50 for only electric sites and $56.50 for full service sites. We stayed in site A18 and it was completely level for us and fit our 32 foot class C plus our Jeep great! The nature trails were perfect for our dog to get her exercise! The beach area is well kept and we had a really relaxing stay. I can see people getting RVs just to camp here. It was awesome! Happy Camping friends!!!

Most sites have water only, but section B has been upgraded to full hookups. Pads are angled to the main roads making it easy to back in with larger trailers. Our camper is 32' so with our truck parked in front there was only a couple of feet away from the main road. There are longer sites, but you have to look for them when making reservations. Did not use the shower and rest room facilities so can't comment on them. There is a beach and boat launch area within the campground. Out side the campground, but within the park there is a very large public beach and swimming area and a marina where pontoon boats, kayaks etc. can be rented. The lake is about 5 miles long by a mile wide so there is plenty of room for boating, fishing etc. There is a dump station just inside the camping area so very convenient for dumping tanks when leaving, or filling up with potable water on the way in. It is set up for entry from both directions.
I had 2-3 bars on my phone with Verizon and was able to stream TV using my hot spot. Being close to Columbus I'm sure I could have gotten channels via my antennae but didn't try to do so.
All in all, we loved this campground and will definitely be back as it is less than a two hour drive from our home.

Very well maintained, established state park. Sites are paved, level, and generally ample in space. Ample shade and privacy if needed. Amenities include boating, fishing, disc golf, MTB trails, live music select evenings, etc.
Facilities are cleaned regularly. Staff are friendly and helpful..

Staff was super friendly. We had a great time there and just rebooked for a few days next month also.

We really wanted to stay here and you have to have a reservation to stay. You can reserve a site on the same day you are arriving which is nice for spontaneous travelers. However, their webpage (at least on a iPhone) would not let me create a new account so I could complete our reservation. Very frustrating. We left & stayed elsewhere.

A nice state park, and while you wouldn’t realize it by just being there, it is nestled right next to suburbia, as a result it has excellent cell coverage. I clocked over 70mbps down and 5mbps up on Visible. Tree coverage is a little heavy for Starlink. Some other highlights: local ice cream for $2 a scoop at the camp store/welcome station, a 9 hole free mini golf course, and a couple playgrounds. There is also a really cool playground outside of the campground at the south end of the State Park near the dam. Also outside the campground but nearby are a dog park and dog beach. During the week it would be an excellent lake for kayaks, during the weekend lots of motor boats. On the negative side, not all of the bathrooms have showers so you may have to walk a bit. There is plenty of poison ivy, our campsite at M03 the entire back parameter had some, but looks like not all spots had as much as ours.

This park really is large, bring bikes for sure. One thing that we didn't love is the overall layout doesn't have "loops" its more like a hub and spoke design which made walking less enjoyable. The "lake" looks really muddy and we didn't find a decent spot to swim. Overall we did like it but pulling out we decided that if we come back through here we would look around to see if there was another spot. That being said, it was clean and quiet which was just what we needed.
