What a lovely park! Despite being early in the season, the park was in good shape. We had a spot close to the shower house but screened by a small stand of trees. What a lovely park! Despite being early in the season, the park was in good shape. We had a spot close to the shower house but screened by a small stand of trees. Showers had GREAT water pressure, plenty of hot water and heat.
The gravel pad was easy to maneuver onto and power hook up was right there. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring on which you can cook. Spaces are roomy and quite private.
We will definitely stay here again.

I’m rating the campground 2/5 and the park 5/5. Sites were too close and could be much better maintained. Surface was mixed gravel/dirt or mud and not level. Bath houses could use a full upgrade. I’m rating the campground 2/5 and the park 5/5. Sites were too close and could be much better maintained. Surface was mixed gravel/dirt or mud and not level. Bath houses could use a full upgrade. Only one operational dump site for a large campground. Wish PA would allocate more dollars towards State Park campground maintenance and improvements. The park itself was magnificent, with numerous trails and access to the Allegheny biking trail. Also, two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural wonders are very close to the campsite.

Great state park and close to trails, water, biking and historic sites. We concentrated more on Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Jumonville Glen and Braddock's Grave. 30/50 amp sites, Site #190 would be perfect for larger rig; site 195 if camping with friends who need cabin. Pay close attention when booking, only 2 dog loops. ... more
Great state park and close to trails, water, biking and historic sites. We concentrated more on Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Jumonville Glen and Braddock's Grave. 30/50 amp sites, Site #190 would be perfect for larger rig; site 195 if camping with friends who need cabin. Pay close attention when booking, only 2 dog loops. Sites fairly level, large and private. Self contained so did not use any shower/rest rooms. Firewood and ice easy accessible. Dump station and potable water near entrance (website does not mention water, but it is available). Note: Pay attention to directions with reservation, some roads in are very steep and not recommended for RV. Plenty of room for adding a tent or clam shell to site.

GPS took us a kind of rough way. Should have used Mill Run Rd (like if you were going to Falling Water). Check in was ok, site ok. Nicely spaced. Toilets and showers were a little disappointing. Good supply of wood.

We had quite the terrible drive to this campground. The inclines on the approach to the area were tough enough, and the directions to the campground given in the confirmation email were very confusing. None of the road names/numbers mentioned matched our GPS or paper maps. RV's should avoid SR 2019 - it's very steep. I would recommend ... more
We had quite the terrible drive to this campground. The inclines on the approach to the area were tough enough, and the directions to the campground given in the confirmation email were very confusing. None of the road names/numbers mentioned matched our GPS or paper maps. RV's should avoid SR 2019 - it's very steep. I would recommend putting Maywood Grill into your GPS first and then navigate to Kentuck Campground from there to avoid steep grades. Also be aware that there are not an abundance of gas stations in the area. That added to the headache of our drive. We nearly ran out of gas after taking the longer detour to avoid steep grades. This campground really isn't great for RV's or travel trailers in our opinion just due to access. Vans and smaller trailers should be fine.
- Closest grocery decent store is 30 minutes away
- Showers were clean, but outdated
- Electric hookups only, no water. Fill up at the bathroom on the bathroom on the way in.
- The park itself is nice and offers a decent amount of hiking and activities
- Great Verizon & AT&T cell service

Very wooded and beautiful. Be careful of site size, because many are very small. Best tip…for GPS use Kentuck Campground. If you use the Ohiopyle State Park it takes you to the river ramp, way far from the campground. And it is difficult to find. Enjoy!

This park is great for swimming in a little cascade (they call it a natural waterslide), bike paths, walking trails, and easy rafting. Waterfalls and cascades are nice, and very close by you can visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (don't miss this) as well as Kentuck Knob. This park is great for swimming in a little cascade (they call it a natural waterslide), bike paths, walking trails, and easy rafting. Waterfalls and cascades are nice, and very close by you can visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (don't miss this) as well as Kentuck Knob.
The campground is nice, however not easily accessible for big rigs - the road to get there is very steep.
We stayed in site 41 (Cherry loop) which was shady and fairly private, not too far from restrooms and drinking water.
Note that the water spigot is located at the restrooms, the other ones in the campground didn't work. Also, you needed to take your garbage pretty far from campsites (not a walkable distance), which we didn't appreciate.

We enjoyed this State Park very much. We were there mid week and it was very quiet with a few campers here and there. Our campsite #225, was very private and we had no one around us. The bathrooms and showers were close by. After scoping out the trail from the campground down to the main Gap bike trail we decided to drive to the town of Ohiopyle and start a bike ride from there. The trail from the park to the Gap trail is VERY steep and would have been hard pushing a bike back up to the campground; however it certainly is doable for a hearty type of person. The bike ride on the Gap trail has gorgeous scenery as well as a walking hike on the Great Gorge trail.
Two downsides; one, the dumpster was emptied at 5:30am and was very noisy, two, because site # 225 was a designated pet site we had to pay an extra fee for the site even though we did not have a pet!

It's a nice wooded park with asphalt roads. The sites are some what close to each other but the wooded areas between the site give you a level privacy. Our site, as well as a number of others, wasn't particularly level. I parked our trailer halfway in because if I had gone all the way back I would have never gotten level. The bath houses were spotless. There are a number of water fill stations throughout the park and 1 dump station. Do follow others as well as the parks warning about coming in on Chalkhill-Ohioplye Road. Do not follow your GPS blindly. There are number of hike in the area which is why we were there.
