This site is 0.4 miles off of Trona Road on a road marked as RM 143 (Google calls it Pinnacle Road) within the Spangler Hills OHV area. The road is in pretty good shape, take it slow turning off of Trona Road though. There is a BLM signage at the turn off.
As the access road crosses Teagle Wash there are 2 large sites, one on the left (we camped here), one on the right. There is a small ridge that blocks highway noise, although the highway is not very busy. Railroad tracks run though this OHV area. We did hear trains once in awhile but we think it was from the line towards higway 395. You may also encounter low flying military aircraft in this area. At first glance there seemed to be not a lot of trash, however we did end up picking up 4 bags of trash during our stay.
The road beyond this area is a bit sandy, which leads to Teagle Wash Staging Area 0.8 miles from this point. There you will find 2 clean outhouses and more areas to camp.
It is an OHV area and this road does lead to the Pinnacles. We were here midweek and it was very quiet, but we suspect it could be busy during the weekends. We drove miles and miles of OHV roads in the area with our Razor. We would suggest you download the AvenzaMaps app and download the FOJ (Friends of Jawbone) OHV map. The map will use your phone's GPS system even if you have no cell service.
