I stayed 2 years ago on my way north as there are still few and far between places (other than parking lots) to spend the night once you leave Kentucky/Cincinnati. Pretty much the same deal - fill out the paperwork at the office (which is now in a small office organizer tray) and deposit your payment in the slot, which is now $15 to dry camp for the night. The water was still off by the way. I arrived while the office was open so I just registered inside. Park wherever you find a nice spot. The grandstands are undergoing a major restoration so workers are out on lifts and running equipment from 7-5 but that should be done by the start of summer.
This is a great little town with a sweet park "Duke Park" on the other side of the river that has a dog park, playgrounds, exercise trails, bike trails, and a small MTB area. Very friendly locals. I was able to park my RV there while using the dog park and MTB trails.
Both T-Mobile and AT&T were good: the best speeds being 25-30 down & 7 up.

I am writing this as the secretary of the Miami Co Fair. We are located close to 2 hospitals and just blocks from our county seat Troy. Interstate 75 access is within 8 to 10 miles. Interstate 70 is about 15 miles south of us.
We have many electric only spots, mostly grass, available for overnighting. The grounds also has some water available but come November we winterize to prepare for cold months. We turn water back on in April. We do get a fare amount of travelers that are looking for a place to overnight. We can also overnight horses for those traveling with horses. We offer a dump station for an additional fee but we do keep it locked. If you need access we can open it no problem.
September through May we are open in the office Tues-Thurs 9-5 and June, July and August we are open Mon-Fri 9-5.
We do not offer stop over camping during our County Fair season which is the first 3 weeks of August.
I have recently added a box on our Office front porch table that has registration forms and we do have a night drop to drop forms/payment.
A big thank you to the gentleman that gave a nice review and took the nice pictures!

This is a fairground, not an RV park so limited amenities but there are tons of electrical stands throughout. The water wasn't turned on but I didn't need any. I dry camped on a level spot in the shade of the grandstands. They usually provide at least electrical hookups for campers but since the weather was perfect I dry camped so they wouldn't need to turn anything on. Many of the sites with water and electricity are on a slope but they allow you to pretty much find a spot of your choosing, and there are lots to choose from. They accept donations for dry camping (non-profit organization so tax-deductible) but otherwise I think it is $25-$35 for hookups. The staff was very nice and the grounds nicely kept, especially the north end with lots of trees. It was a treat to wander across the barn full of harness racing horses who were very sweet. There were a few horses out having a trot on the racetrack. Staying here might require some advance planning as the office is open 3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday) - you can leave a message. They aren't formally set up for after-hours arrivals (no registration desk/envelopes) but there is a payment drop in the office door. If you drive in from the south entrance as described, the office is behind the small sheriff's house between the Horticultural Hall and Art Hall on the right, across from the grandstand. ATT hotspot 23 down and 10 up & T-Mobile LTE (no 5G apparently) 28 down and 4 up. This definitely beats overnighting in a parking lot near the interstate.
