Just off of I-40 and a gem of a place. Electric, water and level spots. The bathrooms were clean and included showers. Trash and RV Dump for 10.00 with senior pass, what a steal!
Nice cool, quiet campground. Would stay again in a flash

The first thing to know is there is no campground map, and the host was MIA, so finding a good spot for our bigger rig was a challenge. We stayed for 4 days and didn’t see a single soul. Very peaceful and secluded, you can see every star at night. Abundant wildlife

3-4 miles off I-40. Quiet w/ sounds of nature. Stopped for 1 night on a Tuesday in June at 2:30 PM and the place was deserted-it was about 100 F. 3 rigs by 7 PM. Choose site 18 for our 38 ft 5th wheel. A pull-through w/ 30A and water. $15/night for electric sites, but $10 w/ appropriate pass. Dump station available. 5G T-Mobile ... more

No reservations, we pulled in around 3pm on a Friday in early May and snagged Site 13 - water, electric, a bit removed from the other sites. Restrooms were super clean, showers functional. Noticed a few sites had leaky water spigots like ours; we turned our water off when not in need to save the resource. Two ATV trails begin at the campground, so be prepared for engine noise and dust, but probably quieter during the week. With the lake long since dried up, most folks are here to ride their machines.

Really nice one-night stopover at this small, simple yet well tended campground, no reservations taken. Only four miles from the interstate, but far enough to feel like the backcountry. We rolled in around 3pm on on a Friday and grabbed pull through site 13, with electricity and water. Two ATV trailheads make this campground a noisier place, but mid-week must be quieter. Early in the season, restrooms were super clean. Noticed several water spigots with bad leaks; ours had a minor but constant leak, and got turned off when we didn't need it. Lake McClellan looks to have been bone dry for years - a walk down the old boat ramp into the middle of the lake bed was a fun stroll.

The showers weren't the cleanest, but the water was hot and didn't run out. Everything in this campground looks like it was last updated during the Clinton administration, but it works and that's what matters.
Side note: do not come here expecting a lake. It looks like it dries up a LONG time ago.

We drove in here and saw that there were multiple entrances (2 camping areas that were split apart) and none were clearly marked on where to go and how to pay. We saw several few stations with instructions to use an envelope and drop it in the tube but there was no envelopes or tubes…upon pulling into one site we were told by the neighbor that the electrical doesn’t work. If they were telling the truth, there was no signage to advise of such. Then we pulled into the only other empty hookup site and noticed the electrical outlet looked melted/damaged. We didn’t feel safe plugging in so we drove away. At one point before leaving we asked another guest about the pay station and they told us where to go- which was quite a bit off in the opposite direction. It was too far to walk so we had to haul the camper over as we weren’t unhooking from the truck. There was no Verizon signal for me in either loop/campground here. The whole place looks a bit run down
