Great campground. Loop A is for short rigs. Electric and water at all sites. Very quiet. Mostly level with spacious sites.

Cell service not there except up at road. Not a problem for us. All very clean and well cared for.
Great hiking in park and near by. Look for waterfall and overlooks.

Expected to have a river/beach the kids could wade in but the shoreline is all gravel and the river was raging. There are no playgrounds so we hiked a bit on a relatively easy trail and skipped some rocks. Steep, steep unprotected cliffs right by our site so we had to watch kids closely. Restroom facilities are dated but fine. The water line at our site was broken underground so we just filled the fresh tank and managed. The water line at the only dump station was broken so could not flush the tank. No cell service at the site but could get 1 bar and get a few messages out by the main river parking area nearby.
If you’re planning to raft /canoe the river or want some moderate hiking it’s probably not a bad place to stay but not great for young kids.

Amazing campground on the Buffalo River. It was quiet and very kid and pet friendly. No cell service unless you drove back near the ranger station.

National Park Service campground with water and electric and a dump station up the road. We stayed in B loop near the river in mid-June. Spaces are close together but not packed. Only a few sites for anything over 35 ft. which causes many people to park on the road or grass. Not ideal, but it worked and no one made them move. Restrooms cleaned twice a day and were well stocked. Several nice hikes and some large canoe/kayak outfitters a mile or two away. Loop A and E are first-come and both are very tight with small sites. B,C, and D loop can be reserved and almost all were full from Tuesday through the weekend. C loop looked the nicest to us but it is a good distance from the river "beach" and boat input area. The beach is river rock but lots of families and kids enjoyed hanging out there all day. Restaurant up the hill was closed and will probably not open for the 2020 season. We could occasionally get one bar of cell signal while at the campsite in the river valley but got a good signal up the hill.

We had a great time at Buffalo Point. Sites had plenty of space to move about. Only complaint is the bath house could have used some cleaning. We will definately be back though.

Stayed the last week of May 2018. Due to weather related construction delays LOOP E was closed, no showers were available the entire stay and restroom opened on our 3rd day there. Port-A-Potties were in the bath house parking lot. THEY WERE DISGUSTING to say the least. When the restroom opened it was older, unkempt and not much better than the port-a-potties after the first day. The park was at capacity. One entry to the beach area was blocked off due to erosion and in need of serious attention.
The park was at capacity and many sites had numerous vehicles parked outside the campsites into the road making it tight to drive and pull your camper through. No one seemed to be policing it.
The river was AMAZING. It was as close to pristine and I have ever kayaked. Stunning scenery. Would over look any park deficiencies just to paddle there again. Quick plug for DIRST Outfitters. They bent over backwards to help us any way they could.
Only cell service was at the check-in and only lasted about 1/2 down the gorge.

Regardless, it is a beautiful well maintained park with electric and water hookups (the only one in NPS on the river). Nice hiking around the park and easy access to river with an awesome bluff on the bend. There is also good access for canoeing in the area.

This is a beautiful national park on the Buffalo River near Yellville, Arkansas. It was peaceful and mostly deserted from Tuesday-Friday until the weekend folks rolled in and put their children everywhere.
A and E loop are first come, first serve sites. B, C, D loop sites can be reserved 72 hours in advance via Recreation.gov. There's a self-pay at a station in each loop, Rangers do not manage reservations at the ranger station. Sites are not really level, so make sure you have some leveling boards on hand. Sites are also close to each other. A and E loops are the quietest in the park. A-21 was my favorite site, but it was taken when we got there :( Rigs longer than 35' may have a harder time finding a spot.
Buy groceries in Yellville at Harp's (~25 minutes away from the park). There's a liquor store in Summit that sells beer/liquor 7 days a week. You can also buy beer from Wild Bill's Outfitters (nearby the park)
There is no Verizon cell service in the campground itself. The restaurant on site has wi-fi (password when I stayed was 80084020). You can also get a weak Verizon cell signal at the main ranger station.
There are a few bathhouses on site for showers. They are clean and operated on a push-button system (5-10 seconds from what we could tell, you'll be pushing the buttons a lot!).
Nearby attractions include: Rush historic district, floating the Buffalo River, Blanchard Springs Cavern.
I would definitely visit this park again during the weekdays. It was a bit too busy for us on the weekend itself.
