The park is beautiful and peaceful. There are plenty of rabbits to feed. My grandson was able to sit on the ground and the rabbits sat next to him while he gave them carrots. There are two playgrounds and a very nice beach swim area. There is plenty of space between the sites with trees and palms between them. A brand new playground. A couple of concerns: some trees need to be trimmed, roads could use some grading due to pot holes, and anyone can drive through the campground.

Sites are well situated with bushes between them. I 95 noise runs continuously but it is like ocean surf and is not a problem. Restrooms clean but not always convenient. Most sites full hookup. Campground WIFI overloaded at times.

I booked the primitive/tent area as I didn't need hookups. The closest restroom is at the beach and not close to sites. The area smelled like a urine. When I went to the front desk to ask to be moved or upgraded. I was told they were full, and there were no cancelations, despite thunderstorms and tornado warnings. I then asked for a refund due to odor, she said I would be charged 1 night. I thought that was unfair since the odor was so unbearable and asked for a manager. I was told there wasn't one.
I took a drive around after typical check ins, I've worked at several state parks nationwide. There were plenty of empty sites!
The bath houses and restrooms were not cleaned daily. I stayed 3 nights.
It is very unfortunate, because it's a nice campground, if you avoid the non hookup area and don't mind bathhouse that aren't cleaned daily. Also, all the doggy pot baggies were empty for 3 days and not replenished.

We really enjoyed this campground and would definitely stay again. Easy to get to off highway but far enough away to avoid noise. Peaceful and respectful campers.great hot water in showers and doggie east bags in multiple locations.

The one-way roads around the park are narrow but we saw plenty of bigger rigs make it thru. Office assigns sites instead of you picking one; we were site #23 FHU 50/30/20A. Site are close to each and usually have foliage for privacy. Hiking/biking trails start in and around the campground- mostly flat. There is a large lake that is open for paddling for a fee. Bunnies roam freely throughout the campground and can be hand fed. Jekyll Island & St. Simons Island are just a short drive away. The Jekyll Island CG looked like they pack as many campers as possible with almost no privacy - glad we chose to stay here. The grounds are very well kept and the staff very courteous & professional. Had an issue with the 20A plug - after a call into the office, Sheldon from the maintenance office popped over and replaced it. Verizon service allowed stream shows and hold video calls; TMobile was hit or miss. The older bathhouse in our section was clean with warm water and good pressure. The newer bathrooms/showers near the office were clean but the water pressure was rather sad.

My little teardrop was very out of place. The bathroom nearest us was very dated but clean. The lake is nice and we had a good time birding around it. Even got a lifer! The background hum of the highway is definitely noticeable in the late Fall, might be better with fully leafed-out trees to absorb some of it. The campground wifi was the best I've ever experienced. It was amazingly fast.

Had tried to get in Jekyll Island campground but no success. Although I’m sure we would have enjoyed our stay at Jekyll but this campground is most definitely a hidden jewel. Campsites are for the most part secluded from the neighboring campsite. Rabbits, ducks, cats and numerous other wildlife throughout campground.
While staying here weather, temps were perfect with no rainfall during our stay.
Look forward to coming back!!!

We visit this area twice a year. This was our second time staying at this campground, we feel this is one of the better options around Brunswick.
This campground feels like a state park with mature trees and vegetation between sites. Our site (75) had live oaks with Spanish moss as well as saw palmetto and other bushes which gave it some privacy.
Sites are a variety of sizes but many are big rig friendly. The back row pull through sites 70-95 are all long enough for any rig, over 90 feet I’d estimate. Sites are assigned by the office but if you ask nicely they may be able to assign you a site of your choice. Roads are navigable for big rigs just take your time. There are a few branches sticking out but they can be avoided
Utilities are all fine, water pressure was good at 45 psi. Sewer was one of those recessed concrete arrangements. Power was good, no voltage sag. Cable is provided and has a good selection of channels. Verizon and AT&T signals were both adequate for streaming.
Park has fresh and salt water access as well as some trails which are a mix of old service roads and single track. Nothing elaborate but enough so we could vary our walks. We saw lots of wildlife, several species of herons, an Eagle, a couple hawks, deer, armadillos, pelicans, raccoons etc.
Park was largely empty during the week and only a small number of folks came on the weekends.
There is a playground for kids and plenty of space for bike riding.
There is a paper plant a few miles away so if the wind is right you can get that smell.
Staff was helpful when we needed to extend a week as we’re the maintenance guys when we had an issue with our surge protector.
An area for improvement would be adding some trash cans around the campground as well as a dumpster. Minor gripe but you have to take all your trash including a poop bag all the way to the dumpster by the office.
We like this campground because it’s close to Brunswick but it feels like you’re away from it all in a state park.

Go online and pay but do not expect to get what you paid for. You may think you are getting the nice pull through site pictured but the staff decides where to place you and your rig. We ended up in a trashed site too small for our rig.
The lake is nice if you can actually use it since it is crowed with duck crap all over the beach.
The staff has the personality of a prison guard.
We have stayed here since 2004 and watched the demise in accommodations and deceptions as to where you are actually parking the rig.
Pass this place up until they can be honest as to which site you have booked.
Hope you do not get put next to the monthly sites!

Beware of their reservation system - it showed a site that would work for us and the email I received said to call if you don't get a confirmation email within 48 hours. The staff has to "approve" the reservation. I called after 48/ hours and they had NO sites.
