Pretty but be prepared to listen to the train horn every 45 mins throughout the entire night. Some spots were littered with trash. Some good views of mount humphreys in certain areas. I probably will never stay here again just because of the train.

We stayed a night here with our 40ft class A. You have to be a bit more selective since the the departure from road is not always navigable. During the the dry season there can also be a significant amount of dust from the road which can be concerning if you are trying to keep your radiator clean and engine temps running well. Over all would do it again but preferably when dust levels are lower. Also think about wind direction before parking and setting up within 100 yards of road since their are some speedsters out there that don’t care about raising dust and dusting your site. Otherwise a wonderful serene setting.

I did not camp at this exact location since the road, along a pipeline, was partially blocked by snow. I did not camp at this exact location since the road, along a pipeline, was partially blocked by snow. Also, there was a man made hump built crossways that I wouldn’t take my motorhome over since I am sure I would have hung up on it. I’m not sure why the hump was there. I walked beyond and found this site and several more that would make ideal sites.
I went about a quarter mile beyond the pipeline corridor on FR 171 and found a nice spot. On further exploring along FR 171 I found many more sites and side roads that have many accessible sites for all sizes of RV’s.
I was the first RV, I think, but by the end of the week I am guessing there were dozens if not more sites occupied. Still, except for some road traffic noise, this area is exceptional.

So peaceful! A great central location to see Northern Arizona. Wish we could have stayed longer.
