“A good stop between Vermont and Maine”

This campground, in Brownfield, Maine, is located right on the border with New Hampshire. It is spacious, heavily wooded, and quiet. Our site was a very large pull-through. It probably helped that we had no neighbors on either side, but even if we did, we think the site would have felt quite private. There's a lot of vegetation between the sites and lots of space within each campsite, so it was really a perfect set-up for us.
On the other hand, while our pull through site was enormous, we had to park at the very back of it in order to get level. The surface of the site was sand which A) made a mess inside the RV all the time, and B) made it harder to level without boards. I'd also note the trees on some of the interior roads could use some trimming back as they brushed our rig as we were driving in. It's nothing that would stop us from staying there again, but it is something to think about for really big rigs.
As for location, we were about 25 minutes away from the tourist town of Conway, and about 35 minutes from the beginning of the Kankamagus Highway, so if you're interested in those types of things, it's a great location. The Saco river is really popular for all kinds of water related activities and there are tons of options in the area. This campground would be a great summertime vacation destination or a solid place to stop while traveling from Vermont to Maine, as we did.
Customer service was good. It's under new management and the owners live onsite. They were very friendly and are obviously working hard to improve the campground. They also offer various canoe and kayak trips along the Saco River which was pretty neat.
Overall, we were very happy with this campground and would return if in the area.
Chapter 3 Travels would stay here again
