Great stay with many campsites to choose from. Campsites are marked with blue paint around the trees. Only 13 minutes from the interstate and pretty mellow well maintained gravel road. Keep on lookout there are campsites before and after where the GPS takes you. Some of the earlier campsites seemed to have better service.

I stayed here from a Wednesday night to Saturday morning in March and had a good experience. I parked my 20 foot travel trailer in a pull-through spot far from the boat ramp. I enjoyed how secluded it was, although I could still barely hear I-40. There were occasionally people that drove through both at night and during the day, but no one ever bothered me and a local Game & Fish officer I spoke with said it’s a safe area. The road wasn’t bad, although it’s mostly gravel.
As for the spot, there was enough sun to keep my batteries charged. Nice view of the bayou and river. I only saw birds and bats, but no raccoons or other animals.
The nearby Love’s truck stop is a good spot to fill fresh tanks and dump grey/black.
jcreemer would stay here again
