Overall Rating

The place has amazing red rocks hundreds of feet high. Quiet place overall.

Didn’t see dogs wandering and the bathroom is clean.

It is dusty, windy and sand around so if it were a park I would expect more.

We went to the second campground beside the horse stables and maybe that was the difference.

Overall Rating

This campground is functional and provides power and water in the spot we were in. Spots are dirt with a concrete pad for a picnic table. No one around when we arrived at 7pm so we picked a spot and got some rest. There was blowing trash and empty beer bottles around. Around 8:30 in the morning to collect the $22 fee. They should put some effort into keep the place clean if they want to collect $22 a night. The main campground was about half full mid week and most looked like longer term visitors... maybe a good location for people working in the area. I can't rate it as a stay again place but if you are on I40 and need power for an overnighter then it would be okay.
