did a drive through. signs are not accurate. When you come to the first fork past the pay station, go to the left.
right is to tent area you want Loop A.
the sites for the most part are big rig friendly as in a 35 or so 5th wheel and we saw a 35 ft MH. there are double sites, toilet areas and some water pumps.
there is a day use are, boat launch area and boat trailer parking area.. on sat it was jam packed with boats, rv and people.. during the week is a better time.
long gravel not so bad road like mile and half long or so. come in on the west entrance on Skilak lake road which is closer to campground entrance road..

Stayed two nights in late May. Mosquitos were bad. Bring a head net if you are cooking outdoors. Small campground that was empty. Also, consider Lower Skilak Lake Campground, which is paved and has nice sites. Approach from the west and heading east on Skilak road to avoid challenging road conditions if you do not have much clearance on your rig. Approach from the west was smooth all the way to Upper Skilak Lake Campground. Solitude was what was nicest about this campground. If you have plenty of time on the Kenai Peninsula, you should explore Skilak Lake Road. No Verizon and one ATT bar.
MVB would stay here again
