We were able to fill our water while parked in the site by using two hoses. Bathhouse with dishwashing room is accessible by paths, but many paths go straight to sites on the inner loop. No formal check in, just check the bulletin board for your site number and go park yourself. There is a self serve firewood $6 per bundle, a playground and disc golf course close to campground. The lake has canoe rentals (says no swimming), there is a boat launch to the creek in non electric loop as well. We had great ATT cell reception at our site. We did have a problem with stink bugs that wanted to move into the rv, be prepared if you camp here in fall. Also black walnuts were dropping this time of year, and it was quite loud when they fell on our roof.

2nd time staying here. Last time April 2022. Nice facilities and great park to explore however you prefer.
Site 14 in the electric loop is the best in my opinion. 10, 17 and 25 are decent too. T-Mobile non-existent, but I don't care, I'm there to relax and unplug.

The campground was well maintained. Restroom buildings were located in the center of the campground loop with access trails leading to them. The showers had ample hot water and were clean.
Lots of trails for hiking trails throughout the park. We also enjoyed riding bikes on the local roads to access other areas of the state park. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday in October and there was good availability of sites unoccupied. It was a great time of year to visit.

Definitely kid friendly 👍🏼

Bathhouse had two showers and is no frills. Several nice hiking trails in the park. Not busy in late August with many open sites. In a very rural farming area with a couple small towns within 10 miles. 1 1/2 hours to Baltimore and 1 1/2 hours to the ocean, so it was a nice central location to explore Maryland.

The sites are all heavily shaded which keeps them much cooler than the surrounding area. All the sites looked flat and mostly private including the non-electric sites. Our site had 30 or 50 amp option. Usually a 2night minimum, but you can show up and stay one night if they have space. Self serve system.

We stayed in the Electric Loop, site #14. Site was heavily wooded and very private; we were surrounded by woods on three sides, and could only see our neighbors across the narrow loop road. Site included a picnic table, fire ring, grill grate and lantern post. Pad was nice and level; didn’t need to use any blocks. Driveway was just long enough to accommodate our truck. Site was a little farther from the bath house than we usually prefer, but didn’t really matter as we were camping sans kids this time. I loved the privacy of this site, so I didn’t mind the little bit of extra walking. Almost all the sites looked relatively private, with a fair amount of trees in between, but our was on of the only sites that was truly surrounded by forest. Since we were here in November, the leaves were especially beautiful.
Bath house was large, heated and extremely clean; looks recently renovated. There was also a nice large dishwashing station on the Men's side, which I love. The park itself is very quiet, pretty, and easy to get around. Lots of multi-use trails, which i believe are mostly flat, so maybe not the best for die-hard hiking enthusiasts. We took the Lake Trail down to the day-use area, and it was a very pleasant, scenic hike that took less than 20 minutes. The lake/day-use area is beautiful, with a pavilion, picnic tables, boat launch area, volleyball and large recycled-tire playground for kids. There were quite a few people out and about, more than I would have expected during November. The lake is popular for fishing, kayaking and canoeing (no swimming allowed). During the on-season, canoes and kayaks are available for rent to explore the lake and water trails in the adjacent Tuckahoe Creek. Would love to come back in the summer to check them out. There is also a disc golf course, challenge course, and archery range on-site.
Overall, we really enjoyed this park. It has all the major elements we typically look for: privacy, lots of trees, electric hookups, clean bath house, large playground, and a place to fish. The fact that it’s only about an hour’s drive from us is a bonus. We can’t wait to come back in warmer weather with the kids!

We stayed at this campground mid week in late April and were 1 of 4 campers on the entire electric loop. There did seem to be quite a few sites reserved for the upcoming weekend. All interior roads were paved and in great condition. The sites all had nice separation of forest between them and had gravel pads and paved aprons. All sites in this loop were electric only, with no water or sewer. We did not use the dump station. The sites did vary quite a bit in length and levelness so bigger rigs may have some difficulty. We are in a 35 ft Class A. The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. We came in from the north on 301, taking MD 405 and MD 304 with no problems. All online directions have you coming in from the south which is really out of the way.
