Talona Creek Campground

My husband and I took a shot at staying at this place when we needed somewhere kind of last minute. To start, the turn in from the main road is a little bit sharp and steep, so take it slow there. The park is mostly full timers, definitely on the quieter side. Fortunately, his job sent him elsewhere or we would have been there a whole week, but I would not have been comfortable as a stay at home mom with an almost 2 year old being there by myself. The grounds needed maintenance, which was a turn off for me because we have a wandering toddler and having to watch her constantly to make sure that she didn’t pick up trash or fall in a muddy hole was less than ideal. The site we stayed in was a pull through with w/s/e hookups, but the water hook up was buried and we had to dig in to get to the nozzle to turn the water on. Also, the place is pretty overrun with chickens, so if you have dogs like we do, definitely keep them leashed. We never used the bathroom facilities on site.
