I was staying at Kelly’s pond campground and went over to check these sites. All spot have a picnic table, fire pit and post at the table to hang a lantern. Nice showers and bathrooms. I will come back and stay here instead. With National Parks pass it’s only $7.50 a nite.

“First come first serve National Forest Campground with hiking trail and lake”

I came here on a holiday weekend and there were 3 spots left. Probably people left early. All first come first serve, no hookups, envelope/cash system. There is water available and toilets. The road driving in was all paved. The spots are large, but the parking spot for them are not all suitable for larger rigs. Some trees are hanging low as well. It's in the forest, by a lake, lots of bugs and mosquitos but that's normal after lots of rain. There is a trailhead for the Lone Stair hiking trail which is about 4 miles long in the woods. You have access to the lake, it's great for kayaking and I saw many people fishing. I had ok AT&T and Verizon reception. Not the best, but enough for basic browsing and Netflix. It's pretty quiet and calm. If you like being in the forest, it's a great place.
