Easy to access even in the dark. We were with 2 other campers so we were all about 200' from each other. There are over a dozen rock fire rings in the little spot. Slightly rough, but plenty of mostly flat sites.

Weekday stay. Very nice place, we stayed on the first spot on the right side of the road, super quite at night, very good road access, minus 1 star for trash. We saw 7 Burros in the morning near our campsite 😊.

One small site to the right about 1/2 mile in. Another half mile down there is space on the right for 4 or 5 rigs depending on size. I prefer to be alone so I continued just a little farther. There is a dip down in the road then a big hill upward. At the bottom of the dip, before mounting the hill there is a great spot on the right. I was able to tuck my 24ft in with no problem. I walked the road and would not advise taking a MH any further but if you have 4WD and want to pitch a tent you could keep going.
The area was very quiet, with the occasional ATV coming through. It would appear that this spot is in the flight path of an air base. One really loud low helicopter and another military plane were the only things I heard. Another fun thing about this area was the herd of wild burros (I think). Woke up to 16 of them around my rig and a very concerned dog. A Beautiful and serene sight to see. Watch out for droppings!

We ventured past the closed sign, assuming that maybe that meant further down.. and we needed to find a place to turn around regardless. We ended up locating the loops and staying there for the night. Very basic looped area, with some rock fire rings, as good BLM spots seem to have. No one else there for the night, just a dark starry, very quiet night.

There are several side roads for hiking so will throw on a raincoat. Yes, it rained throughout the night but it was a much needed rain.
The surrounding area has mountains, many desert plants and wild burro’s.
There was light traffic before dark but none that I heard throughout the night.

Yes the road in is dusty and yes it could be bad if it's been raining and the road is covered. But otherwise it's better than a truck stop and there isn't much to choose from around here. I awoke after spending the night in my car after finding this excellent free camp spot on my way back home, something I often do on road trips. But this was a rough road trip, one I dreaded when I was headed to my destination and one when I was emotionally drained coming back home. Awakening to the beauty of desert fauna, rock formations, the sounds of birds, the sight of scurrying creatures, all of what this quiet spot had around… That was the repose I needed that morning, a place for reflection and gathering myself and my thoughts over some pretty difficult stuff. I needed that camp spot.
