“Worth the drive for the view”

Reviewed May 09, 2018

Overall Rating

This is a long ways to go for a one-night stand so plan to stay awhile, and it will be worth it. A small campground on the Gulf Coast, almost on the border of TX and LA, and you get to drive through a lot of oil refineries in Port Arthur to get there. But it's worth it: endless beach less than a minute from every campsite and beautiful... more

“small, quiet park right on Gulf”

This park only has 13 sites. Getting to it you have to drive thru Port Arthur refineries The bridge just past the park is out. You can drive on the beach. It has vault toilets and no showers. The sites have electricity and water. It was pretty buggy I made a youtube video of the park https://youtu.be/DdpXA1Mf7Xo Cell phone data ... more

The beach camping was $10.00 but you also had to pay $3.00 per person per day for an entrance fee. They did have RV sites with 30/50 Amp electric and water ($20.00 + EF). There was a dump station about a 1/2 mile away. Pit toilets were clean but no convenient to the beach sites. No shower facilities. We stayed right on the bea... more

Very nice staff. Very clean well marked sites and maintained. Beach is beautiful water some shelling and very hard packed. Driving on the beach can be done with any vehicle. Although I’m not sure I would take my 38 foot coach there. If you’re outside around dusk and the temperature is above 55° watch out, the mosquitoes and thrips c... more

To be fair, we only stopped for the day but we hope it helps anyway... We will defiantly be coming back to stay for an extended time. Just the overall atmosphere here was what we really needed for the day. A nice walk on the beach then a very cool boardwalk stroll that gave us a chance to photograph the wildlife (See pics). Standing water was a breeding ground for mosquitoes. It was so bad at dusk when we arrived that we decided to forego hooking up the water until morning. “Camping Beside the Beach”

Reviewed Jan 30, 2016

Overall Rating

The pull through asphalt sites make this a great spot for RVs and Trailers that want to camp by the beach.

There's a grass barrier between parking with a very short path to the beach. The sites have water and electric, the dump station is at a different site not far from the overnight parking.
