Osceola RV Park & Campground

GREAT campsite and Pat the manager was awesome. Last minute plans changed due to a winter storm and found this place the day prior. Reservation was super easy over the phone. Had full hookups that carried 20/30/50 amp options. Pet friendly. Site J is the pull through closest to the bathhouse. Bathhouse men's side has two showers, three or four seat toilets, and a sink (bring your own soap). Also had a laundy on other size but didnt check it out. Has a trash bin with 100-150 ft walking. Small pond nearby 500ft or so, and they have a lot of spoonbill/paddlefish boats and anglers going March thru end of April or May. Camp was about 20% full for the weekend, most folks passing thru. Rates at $18/day for full hookups, cash or check with ID only.

Northernmost locations are for primitive camping. Other sites all looked similar. Very level if you line up on the center of the gravel pad, no levelers needed just had to get more center. Only thing I could pick on is there were are a dozen or so dilapidated-looking campers on the lot in storage for owners, which only costs $1/day for first month, $0.50/day for 2nd month on. Could use a mow but not a bother at all.

Osceola is a super small town feel, but Osceola Cheese is worth the visit. Hundreds of quality cheeses, smoked sausages and jerky, and general take home gifts.
We drove an hour or so to Truman Resevoir to check out the dam and lake. Truman State Park was cool, visitor center sported an AMAZING view of Truman Resevoir and lake. Fished the lower reservoir, very busy but plenty of room along the shore for a Saturday. Pulled 3 nice sized white bass that were aggressive due to spawning.

Also just an hour from Pomme De Terre lake. Super close to Hwy 13 but no noticeable noise that we could tell. Had 3 bars Verizon but data for maps and fishing app was super super slow. Phone calls and text were fine.
