We stayed for a weekend. Before we arrived they had the water system back up and running. The Onondaga Cave is closed for renovations and was told it would be completed by July of 2024. Call and confirm. Good news is the Cathedral Cave was open for tours. Camp site was clean, pad was in good shape. The campground has two dump ... more
We stayed for a weekend. Before we arrived they had the water system back up and running. The Onondaga Cave is closed for renovations and was told it would be completed by July of 2024. Call and confirm. Good news is the Cathedral Cave was open for tours. Camp site was clean, pad was in good shape. The campground has two dump stations. Fishing is plentiful and the boat launch gives you access to the Meremac River for canoes or even tubes. Near by resorts rents them and will bring you back. Our 42 camper was easily maneuver around the park and into the spots. Will be booking this again.
No cellphone service for Verizon or FirstNet (AT&T) which was no problem as my wife and I both have amateur radios. We had no internet so if you want to watch a movie you’ll need a DVD or Blue Ray player.
This is another must goto for us!

We made a reservation on their web site. On the day of our arrival, we received an email allowing us to check in electronically. Or, you can drive around to find an open site and call to book it. We made a reservation on their web site. On the day of our arrival, we received an email allowing us to check in electronically. Or, you can drive around to find an open site and call to book it. Camp sites were well spaced. All had some shade. Paved pads long enough for 3 cars. Two hiking trails just off the campground. Small lake within walking distance for swimming. Ice and wood on site. Very quiet. No cell service. 1 shower building with laundry facilities - $2 each for wash/dry (bring lots of quarters).Showers & bathrooms were clean and maintained. Extra long picnic table with overhand at one end for camp stove.

Less than 10 miles, 20 minutes from I-44. Follow signs for park on highway H. GPS may lead you on gravel road, don't do it. Level concrete sites with water and electricity. Nicely spaced. Access to river front for wading, etc. Little to no phone service. Rare text came thru while hiking. We loved the hikes and setting. We camped here in mid April 2021. The dogwoods and redbuds and wildflowers were in full bloom.

We were there in October for a wedding nearby. Electric sites were close to full. The electric sites are staggered so that there is a little more space than if they were side by side. We were there in October for a wedding nearby. Electric sites were close to full. The electric sites are staggered so that there is a little more space than if they were side by side. We enjoyed the cave tour, but be aware there are a lot of ups and downs in the cave. Hiked the Deer Run Trail. As is true with most Missouri State Parks, the road leading to the park is narrower than we would like for a motor home.
