We stayed in the Walterboro, SC area one night on our way from Sneads Ferry, NC to Lake City, FL. The reservation process was done over the phone; no email confirmation. The space for our class C 25' worked well for pulling through. The setting is tall pine trees; a bit messy with the soft soil. The neighbors kept to themselves; except for the guy that shared his smoke from the pine needles he decided to light that smoked us out. A call to the office addressed the issue. The bathrooms are not reasonable options for showering. The paint is peeling. I honestly didn't give much more of a look to see if the area around the mats were clean or not. The nightly rate was $39 or so each night.
You will hear noise from the highway but it is just a steady sound.

We pulled into our campsite and it was a muddy mess. There is no gravel to park on just dirt. It had rained and we tried parking in the dirt that was now mud. There was no way to level our TT. This park might be okay when it's dry, but if it has been raining, it's a disaster. Roads are gutted and muddy, and the sites are worse. We had big water-filled holes in our site, and a deep puddle right in front of our door. Couldn't book online, and no reservation confirmations are sent. No breaker on power pedestal. The park is very convenient off the interstate, but that's not enough to bring us back.

Cons: too loud off the interstate. I asked for a spot furthest away but doesn't help. Shower room kinda scuzzy as well. Pros: lush and green with grass and full grown pines. Plenty of space between spots.
Okay for a night stay. God how I wish RV developers would NOT buy the cheapest land butt-up against busy roads and railroad tracks!!!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this campground. The sites are huge. Office personnel very pleasant - both when making the reservation on the phone earlier in the week and again when we checked in today. We will definitely keep this campground on our favorite list.

Confirming other reviewer comments: old campground (with nice, tall trees), run down with no electrical surge protectors. We arrived 6:30 pm without reservations. Check in was fast. “Discount” with Good Sam and Military applied resulting in $3 off. Still $30/night. Lots of freeway road noise - to be expected with location immediately adjacent to interstate. Despite several other open sites, we were put in one with no picnic table, ground not level due to large tree roots protruding, and no sewer. Water pressure low. Bathhouse old and lights flicker like a scene from horror movie. It seemed to be rather uncontrolled access with several vehicles driving / trolling through without reason. Single female travelers use caution.

Huge amounts of green space between sites. The water is soft so keep that in mind. The 50amp hookup at our site did not have a breaker, use caution and a surge protector. Not a super fancy place but the people are nice and road/site hole maintenance is being done. While you are right next to the highway, noise inside your rig isnt a thing.
