There were only 8 sites taken on a beautiful Friday evening in February at this campground. Reservations can be made, but seemed unnecessary. Lots of sites could accommodate large rigs, although the very upper loop had somewhat of a tight turn. Best to park down by the entrance and walk to scout for your site. Easy access from I-5. You are able to see the highway in some of the lower loop sites, but hardly hear it and you will not be able to see or hear it from most sites in the upper loop. Most sites are not exactly level, but not bad. If you have a slide, the pullouts are almost not wide enough, and you might feel your slide is sticking out into the road.
The dump station is located before the entrance to the campground. The campground entrance is actually the 3rd driveway.
Very friendly camphost, very clean bathrooms, very clean campsites.
Don't let the lake be the reason you come here, unless you are a boater. Walk-ins are not allowed and neither is swimming.
Too bad there are not any hiking or biking trails in or around the campground.

The surroundings are beautiful and we wished we could have stayed here longer. The camp host was very friendly. It looks as if there used to be hookups, but they are not used any more. So it is dry camping only. There is a dump station near the entrance. We had a pull through site (#14) and it took some careful manouvering to get our 34' trailer in there, but it worked and it was level enough so that we did not need any blocks.

This campground is HUGE. 90 some spaces in 4 separate loops. No frills. About half the sites are back in (and a bit narrow) and the other half are pull-through semi-circles. I took a pull through that was perfectly level. Didn't need any blocks at all. I had loop 1, all to myself. The Hostess (Sheryl) was a lovely woman and my dog Cosmo got along with her dog Tank (aptly named). There are garbage cans close to every site, many dumpsters, and every loop has bathrooms that are clean and well kept. The sites are clean. I chose no hookups, but there was potable water spigots throughout if you need to refil a tank, and a dumpsite on premises included in the cost. Be sure to mention if you have an America The Beautiful pass. It got me 50% off and I paid only $30 for three nights.
There is very little light polution and the stars and planets were amazing. Access is easy. Everything about this campground was easy. They had ice and a few odds and ends in the "check in shed" like bug spray, batteries, etc. No stores nearby, so come stocked up on food.
I planned on staying one night, but hung out for 3 days. It was just nice, clean, cheap and easy. Pyramid lake is about a mile away. It was OK, but you have to pay $12 to get in and the lake is closed to swimmers due to toxic algae.

We stopped here for a layover on our way to Tahoe area. The place makes for a good start but I wouldn’t stay here for more than a night. We approached with no reservation and had no problem parking our 45 foot fifth wheel. Cell service is decent. No services. RV waste station available. Nice people at the camp.

This place is BEAUTIFUL! Our kids loved running up and down the hills and digging in the sand. We stopped here for an overnight on our way to Palm Springs from the San Benito area. When we arrived at 5:30pm we were the only ones there, a couple other overnighters showed up a bit later but it was really quite. Some of the sites are small but we were able to find plenty of sites to fit our 28ft trailer and 18ft van. It’s dry camping. The water at the campground tasted good and was readily available. when we were leaving we noticed the pull thru sites have sewer so we could’ve filled our clean water tank and used our sink. It’s close to I-5 and only takes about 10 mins to get there and there’s no crazy hills to drive or anything like that. It’s close to pyramid lake but we didn’t check it out, though driving past it loos like there a great sandy beach area for swimming.

We did not use the restrooms and there is a dump station. We were there during spring break Sunday-Wednesday and had the whole place to ourselves.
