You go to the website for the SW Florida Water Management District to apply. Sort of a pain because if I remember correctly you have to create an account and login before you can reserve. Then you need to show a copy of your permit to the camp host when you arrive.

We did not get a permit at that time. We drove in, spoke with camp host who said to pick any spot. it was quite empty. We stayed one night but would stay longer if our schedule had permitted.
