Have to make a reservation online, but only takes about 10 minutes to create an account, make a reservation and get a confirmation email. We made the reservation the day before we stayed. Only three other campers were there. Super quiet and dark. Great sleep. Has a bathroom and a pavilion. The entrance is a long gravel/dirt road. A little bumpy, but not bad. Large RVs would be fine.

I love this place. It’s very clean and spacious. Beautiful scenery with the sunset view or the sunrise. But most of all, the park has a water access. Bathroom and a beautiful walking trails. I went last March and tried to book it again but the park is no longer available. I hope it will reopen again.

So you go through that process, you take all that time, then you find out that even if there are spaces available, you can't book on the same day. It doesn't tell you that until you go through the process and try to make the reservation. (And there _was_ a space available, but it wouldn't let me book it, because it was the same day. Ridiculous.)
What a complete waste of time--which, if you are looking for a site _that night_, you don't have.

Verizon good.
AT&T good.

CAUTION: our Garman led us astray!!! The directions had us exit the Florida Turnpike 1 exit early at Rte 470 and sent us through town. Not a problem until we were in a neighborhood with narrow roads, across railroad tracks, bad speed bumps and low trees and ended at a dead end! Do not follow those directions if it sends you that way! Stay on 75 and exit at Rte 44 and take that, great road!

The new hosts, Jeanette and Rick have been fantastic at getting this camping experience up to GREAT! The bathrooms are now clean and taken care of. They have taken care of the bug problem inside the bathrooms by putting up screens and pressure cleaning the inside. There's a little landscape area outside the bathroom with flowers and it just makes the place look homey. We met them for the first time and they are so friendly and will help you out with suggestions for other places to stay. They even gave us a book on Recreation Guide for SFWMD camping. We will def be coming back here.

The good stuff: FREE, room for any rig, nice trails.
The bad stuff: Sand spurs! You need to wear mosquito repellent too.
We would stay here again because it's free and you have plenty of room as well as trails to walk the dog. Your dog will suffer sand spurs in the grassy areas. If you brought horses, it's great!

We camped here with our two dogs, and discovered immediately that there are burrs everywhere in the grass. Our camping experience was nice, but keeping the dogs out of the grass was a challenge.
