Solid signal strength. We can work from here.
All the previous descriptions are true. Green, peaceful, unhurried. Only us and another on a Tuesday in July. Hard to complain. Some leveling issues but not too bad.
When we arrived, the proprietress, Karen, offered us homemade ice cream. She'd made several gallons for a church social, had 4 gallons left, said take as much as we want. Oh boy! Also homemade hot fudge and caramel toppings. Maybe the best ice cream I've ever tasted. Might have it for breakfast.

A small city owned park that is very clean and well cared for by a very nice old couple. The town of Gothenburg is a clean town that oozes historic charm. There is no wifi at the campground nor sewer hookups at the sites but there is a dump station at the entrance and the bathroom facilities are clean and functional. Being a small park on the edge of a small town it is very peaceful. Would live to stay here again.

We also visited the Pony Express station on our way out of town which was fun!

Must get key for restrooms/showers at office, but you can keep it for your entire stay. Older restrooms, but in good condition and very clean. Restrooms can get hot during midday, but are ok mornings and evenings. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Old fashioned Playground in the middle of the park. Lovely place for a walk or to walk your dog. Pull thru and back in sites. Call ahead to reserve a pull thru if you need one.

Lots of shade under the large trees. Mostly level sight, clean showers and restrooms. Water and electric (30 amp) 50 amp available at other sights. Dump station available. Adjacent to a nice park with a beginner friendly disc golf course. We really liked it here.

I arrived without a reservation, after visiting another campground on Rt. 47 south. The other campground did not have a safe feel and was away from town. I looked on Google and found Lafayette Park. When I called the camp host who lives onsite was kind and told me the rate was 10 for a tent and 15 for hook-ups.
When I arrived the host came to the desk and we chatted that I was camping alone, he was so sweet, guiding me to a site that was next to an extended family staying in the rv sites. Even though I was going to only need a tent site. He wanted me to feel secure.
The grounds were spotless. The area had lots of trees and was across from a large park with walking trails. The town center is only 2 miles away with groceries, library and other amenities.
