Stopped here on our way to Klamath Falls Oregon. Camping is open till end of October. Spaces in the higher numbers are wider and deeper. We stayed in sites 11 and 12. Both 35 ft 5th wheels we did not need to unhook. Clean, quiet. 15.00 a night. No hookups or dump station. Beats the KOA down the road for 60 bucks and packed in. Camp... more

Camp host says the fishing is excellent here. Good Verizon 44 TV channels.

This campground, along with the North and South areas, is now run by the local county. Great spot if just looking for a place to lay your head on a pillow for the night. This “RV park” is basically a parking lot with a few feet of space between the site. It’s all black top with one row of RV site facing the lake. The only upside is that you get to Lakeside view but you’re 5 feet from your neighbor with one tree in between. Haystack East 2 miles down the road is so much prettier and more private. We arrived at the reservoir August 2015 and toured the Haystack Reservoir Campground and Day Use Area on the E shore, but there wasn't a whole lot of shade and no green grass, so we went back to the West Shore Campground. Surprised there was only one other site that was being used (mid-week), we found one of the few that had a shade tree and snagged it. We noticed some mosquitoes while setting up (tent, camp stove, etc.) and having dinner, but we were swarmed after sunset and had to duck into our tent. The lake was peaceful, even seeing a crane across the lake, and the colors of the rocks during sunset were beautiful.
Cell coverage - it's been a couple of years since we stayed and I don't recall the signal strength.
