Haag Cove Campground

I stayed at this campground near the end of May 2022 with a teardrop camper. The campground was not crowded and it was quiet. The vault toilets were clean and easily accessed. The campsite was free of debris, easily accessed and I did not have any level issues. The site included a picnic table and fire ring. There were many trees in the campground, but there was plenty of sun exposure for my solar panels. The only negative for the campground was that the water level of the lake was very low. Apparently the water level is decreased in the spring to accommodate any spring snow melt. The water level starts to come back up in June and reaches its maximum by July. Thus, in the spring it is quite a hike to get to the lake and launching a kayak needed to be done at a nearby boat launch area. That being said, the scenery was spectacular and the wildlife could be seen browsing the dry area between the campground and the lake. It was also possible to walk out in the dry area and access other areas along the lake. This would be an awesome campsite when the lake is full as the campsite would be within 50 feet of the lake.

Great National Park Service along the shore of the Columbia River. Four of the 12 sites are waterfront. Old style campground (maybe built in the 60’s) but all sites can accommodate the largest rigs. Great views across the lake. When we were there, two of the waterfront sites had waterski boats moored on the beach at their sites. Very peaceful tho. Can have high winds and very warm t Elmo’s in the afternoon
