We just tried and the roads are awful, every foot of them. We drive 6 miles of the 9 to get there and turned around. If you value your rig, don’t bother! The forest service is responsible for this road and they should all be fired

There was unseasonable levels of rain here in summer of 2023, so it's quite possible that Andy's answer in June was accurate then, but I agree with the August reviewer...every foot of road is a rutted, potholed, muddy nightmare. There are more holes than road surface. It was the worst road I have ever driven in my life. I would absolutely NOT take a Mini Cooper. You could lose your Mini Cooper in one of the potholes! That's a slight exaggeration, but there were seriously potholes stretching from one side of the road to another, a full foot deep in parts, with about 5 inches of muddy clearance on each side of the road, one side of which has a 20 foot drop off. Nope, nope, nope.

If you went slow, you can get out there. The road isn’t terrible. But for certain there is no service in that valley.
