Gothic road is no longer paved once you pass the ski town of Gothic, but it is a well maintained dirt base road with little washboard. It was evident that it had been recently graded prior to our visit. After passing the large beaver dams on the creek the road does degrade and requires high clearance and 4X4. The road is busy during hiking season and can get rather dusty.
All of Gothic Road is designated dispersed. One must camp at a numbered site with a fire ring and parking area. This is for the protection of the amazing wildflowers that fill the valleys in late June.
Site 13 is on the left side of the road. It is in full sun and has remarkable views. It had a flat parking area and would be an excellent Starlink location. Unfortunaly someone rutted the entry to the site by driving on it while it was wet. It is very bumpy and would destroy the bottom of most rigs.
This site had zero Verizon or AT&T connection.
