Question about Glacier Basin Campground

Jay See asked on 9/4/2023

Is the max RV length your trailer size or trailer + TV? Recreation.gov says the max RV length for my site is 32ft, but in the fine print it says Trailer Length = Trailer + Hitch + Vehicle. If my trailer is 26’ and my tow vehicle is 20’, that’s well over the limit, but I’m reading reports from others that entered with a fifth wheel.

I camped in Glacier Basin with a 35’ 5th wheel. I was in site B44 which barely fit the rig. I had to park the truck in the overflow lot. The sites that I thought I could fit into were: B Loop - 34, 38, 46, 54 D Loop - 131, 137, 140, 149 Loops A and C had some tight turns which could be a problem, but you may be able to manage it. Sites on A Loop - 14, 18. C Loop - 75, 111. Good Luck!

Yes I have noticed this confusion before. Typically the 32ft indication is for the trailer. Also look at the description of “Allowable equipment/driveway details”. I have 20ft trailer and the description said max trailer length 21’ and max vehicle length 21’ and driveway Length 29’. My trailer and Toyota SUV fit ok. Thanks for the answers! It turns out I have plenty of room for my 26’ TT and F150 in a site that said the limit was 32’. This guidance is clearly about the trailer limit and not tow vehicle trailer length.
