“Camp along the shore of a high mountain lake”

Reviewed 8/14/2022

Nightly rate: $8

Site Number: 12
Overall Rating

Sites at this campground follow along the lakeshore. The area is wooded. As standard NF there is a table and firepit at each site. The vault toilets were clean. A dumpster was available. There is no cell service. The place is quiet at night but we had to contend with some four-wheelers during the day. Neighboring campers let their younger teens pilot them to and from the dumpsters. They found lots of reasons to make the trip, even though it is against the rules.

“Calm, Scenic Campground with Great Access to Trails”

Reviewed 8/15/2019

Nightly rate: $15

Overall Rating

We spent three days by the lake which, although scenic, seems to have very little fishing opportunities. Those can be had at Worthen Reservoir or Fry Lake, just down the road. The Blue Ridge Fire Lookout is a great 1/2 mile hike to a fantastic view of the Popo Agie Wilderness, and there's connecting trails to sub-alpine and alpine lakes heading further north into The Wilderness. Bathrooms were clean and the campground was neat.
