What a lovely park! It's located on the Salmon River Scenic Byway, which follows the Salmon River (Idaho's largest river) along US-93. it was beautiful in summer and fall would be a spectacular time to visit. Stuart, the owner, has created an oasis for hikers, fishermen/women and historians to enjoy the best of Idaho. The river is right across the road, Goldbug Hot Springs is a nearby hike and the former mining town of Salmon has restaurants, amenities and great history. The sites are very level gravel with nice shade, the restrooms clean and the entire park is very welcoming. The nights were quiet, as US-93 doesn't have a lot of after hours traffic. There's a restaurant and pub within walking distance, too. This was a one night stopover for me - next time I'll plan to stay longer!

Stewart, the friendly owner of this small RV Park bought the park about a year ago and he has given it a great amount of TLC. There are lots of trees so there is a chance that your rig will not be in full sun. The Salmon River is just across US-93 and even though the park is close to the road, the traffic is so light you will not notice it. The park is about 20 miles south of Salmon, the closest gas and groceries, but there is a restaurant right across the street that is not bad.
I had 4 bar Verizon service the whole time I was there which meant my Verizon Home internet unit had not problem streaming movies and TV.
There is a propane tank for re-filling your tank if needed and a dump station as well. Stewart also keep Forest Service Maps and other maps and info about the area in the office for your use. Goldbug Hot Springs is also right around the corner.
I would stay here again if my travels brought me to central Idaho.

Wi-Fi was good enough to download a movie after about an hour. Good Verizon coverage. Nice bathroom/showers. Laundry center, top notch. Excellent movie collection to borrow from. Propane available on-site to refill from. Across the road from Salmon River and The Dusty Mule bar, which had pretty good food too. Would recommend for a future stay.

We set up our daughter in our Super C here for 2 months while she worked in nearby Salmon during the busy season. We were so happy with the beautiful scenery, quiet grounds, and excellent service from the owner. If she ever needed anything, they were happy to help. There is a clean laundry room, showers, and bathrooms onsite, and more than enough space for a 40 foot RV. There are shade trees, some grass sites, some landscape rock sites, picnic tables, a gas firepit, and an onsite mini-store if you need. The owner waited for us until we arrived, helped us get our bearings, and then grew to be a friend. If you are needing to camp (even in a tent!) anywhere near Salmon, Idaho, you need to go and see Stewart at Elk Bend RV Park. Say hi to the deer that roam the area, too, or walk across the street and listen to the Salmon River. Just a beautiful area! Sites with full hookups and not. Would not hesitate to recommend Elk Bend RV Park.
Also, they were pet friendly!

We spent 2 nights, so that gave us time to hike to Goldbug Hotsprings the 2nd day. At was awesome!!!! Trailhead is a short drive away. Hike is steep in a few areas and took us about 2.5 hours (taking our time). And the hot springs are fantastic! Multiple pools with different temperatures. At the bridge near the top, there is a pool with a small waterfall with cool water as expected from a creek bed and on the other side hot water drains in from the rocks. Stunning! Then it seeps into different pools at the other side of the bridge. Awesome! Some hikers spent the night up there, but we enjoyed the faster hike back and the comfort of the campground.

I don’t even know where to start...a much needed and incredible 1 night stay at Elk Bend! The owners Addey and Keith are the epitome of hospitable. I had stopped on my way to Cottonwood campground for ice and beer and instantly hit it off with Addey...impossible not to with her southern charm. I had plans to hike at Goldbug Hot Springs one evening that week and after meeting her and seeing the beautiful green grass spots I knew this would be my base camp. I came back after 2 nights down the road ready for a shower, AC and a safe place for my dog while I hiked (needed a dog break for my soak). Addey was kind enough to offer to check in on Penny while I was gone. The hot springs trail head was less than a mile south, making the drive back a snap after hiking out after dark.
In a 24 hour period I plugged in and charged my camper batteries, used and filled water, did laundry, took 2 showers, dumped tanks, caught up with “reality” and friends on wifi, filled my propane tank, got take out from the Dusty Mule restaurant across the street, bought ice, slept 8 hours and hiked to the most incredible hot springs I’ve ever encountered. This could have been the most rewarding 24 hours I’d had in a long time. If you are passing through stop in for supplies and say hi. It’s the only place between Salmon and Challis. If you are looking for a great stop over right off 93 I highly recommend Elk Bend RV Resort. They have EVERYTHING you need!
