There was a sign that said “Begin National Forest”, so I assume you could camp back there, but I didn’t see signs of anyone being there. However, Coyote hill road is barely a road. There was a sign that said “Begin National Forest”, so I assume you could camp back there, but I didn’t see signs of anyone being there.
However, Coyote hill road is barely a road. Much more difficult than just pot holes on a dirt road. Think of maybe something you drive atvs on. 4 wheel drive and high clearance is definitely required. Even with those, I didn’t feel comfortable trying to drive back and ended up turning around. I’m sure someone more comfortable could though.

Juke 4th Weekend , all campus busy. I found this free camping in national forest . Easy drive even for a Toyota Corolla, no problems. Quite a few people there, good neighbors, everyone behaving well. And, it was free . Thank you national forestry.

The drive up Coyote Hill itself is rough but doable in a 4x4 with high clearance
Just go slow
The site is nice! See pictures
The challenge is that is not nice enough for me to camp there for a few days and not worth the effort to get there for a single night
