Two nights here on a nice big grassy site. Unlevel front to back but we made it work. Hiked to Irish Rock for lunch, pretty spot on the river. Electric kept going off at our site and while maintenance did come out it wasn’t resolved. Pretty quiet at night despite being full.

get a spot on the river in the back if you can, but the back loop forest spots also look cool. lots of hiking in the immediate area & good facilities. site 32 was great but the bathhouse nighttime light harshed the vibe a bit. otherwise excellent. verizon cell barely worked but it was kinda nice

Quiet campground on the Clarion River. A few hiking trails. It was nice to have a site on the river, but the parking pad had no gravel, only wet, slick grass that had my tires spinning when I tried to straighten up the rig. It seems a recently installed culvert took water from the upper campground loop and released it on sites 37, 36. Muddy or slippery mess. Avoid those sites and if in an RV shy away from the upper loop where the sites were anything but level.

Great site right on the river. Plenty of hiking trails, fishing, nice playground for the granddaughter. It was a very piece full tripe.

A Pennsylvania favorite, Clear Creek State Park is a beautifully maintained, scenic park, right on the Clarion River in the Clear Creek State Park. The Park offers movies on an outdoor screen, regular nature talks and walks and has an onsite museum. The park has tent sites, RV sites and cabins. Clear Creek runs through the campground and is a perfect spot for a BBQ or Picnic. It also has a designated swimming beach with sand. There are multiple hiking trails leaving the campground. There is a general store just 5min from the park, plus multiple private firewood options on the road in. The park also sells firewood bundles. The Clarion is a crystal clear, shallow, rock bottom river perfect for a cool off, fishing or kayaking. There are two kayaking/tubing companies in Cook Forest to hire watercraft to float the river. Both floats don’t go as high as Clear Creek State Park so you won’t float past the campground, with the longest being 9 miles. The facilities are always clean, with large shower areas and always fully stocked with tissue. All sites have fire rings with adjustable grills. The best un-powered RV site is site 40– private and waterfront. The best powered-RV site is 39– private and waterfront. There are also two very private tent sites that are waterfront(classified as Kayak In tent sites) numbered CR-001& CR-002. Both waterfront, shaded with fire rings. Excellent tent sites! Note you can only book them for 1 night at a time. No phone reception at this one! They welcome furry friends at selected sites!

Clear Creek State Park has nice cabins and two loops of campsites along the National Wild & Scenic Clarion River. They post that 30 foot is the limit, but most sites can handle larger rigs. The back camping loop has smaller sites and would be limited to smaller rigs. I think sites 4-8, and site 39 can handle any size. It looked like some sites were not level, but ours (5) was very level. Good sites, but close together. There are multiple showers houses and restrooms in the park, one on the back loop and one between the campground and cabins. Due to COVID we did not use the on-site facilities. I popped in to look and they were clean. There are multiple hiking trails that can be accessed from the campground and we enjoyed several 1-2 mile hikes each day. There are a lot of picnic areas and a swimming beach on Clear Creek. The water is famously cold and is suited for families with kids to wade, more than swim. The Clarion River is great for kayaking and tubes. There is a launch on-site and many launch sites upstream in the Allegheny National Forest. Someone had planted some tomatoes in an old stump at our site and we picked fresh tomatoes each day, which was a new one for us, but good fun. All sites were full when we were here, but it was still quiet. In the river valley cell coverage is almost nonexistent, but we did get one bar on Verizon and could send and receive text messages at our site. Too weak for internet access.

Electric only but water and dump station were available. Sites were not very long so anything over 30ft could be an issue. It is appears Shower and Rest room building was fairly new. Very clean and taken care of. Nice home showers. Being that it was middle of week there were only a few campers. Good hiking trails. Beautiful pine and hardwood forests. The river is stocked with trout. Highly recommend this park.

We camped here with my brother and his family. They have been coming here for years and love that they can kayak down the river to the campground. We had a river site which was nice to hear the water running by us and watching people canoe and kayak down the river. The state park is out in the middle of no where, but this allows you to have a quiet, relaxing time.
The sites are average with gravel for you to park on. Looked like most sites are electric only so you have to fill your fresh water tank to have water access in your RV. There are several hiking paths nearby and a little nature center.

Nice small campground with some sites along the Clarion River, while other sites are near the Clear Creek. There are about 45 sites with upgraded electric, and 10 non-electric sites. For the most park all the campsites are level and either grass, gravel or dirt surface. There are also some small to large cabins scattered near the campground. They have 3, yes 3 shower modern shower buildings. Good selection of hiking trails along with the Ox-Bow trail and the Lumbering Museum.
The Clarion River is great for wading, canoeing, kayaking in. During the months of July & August the water is very warm. Along the campground the river at normal flow runs 12" to 32" deep, but can rise 2' to 4' in prolonged rain events. The Clear Creek which starts near the entrance of the park with a small swimming lake meanders thru the park and empties into the Clarion alongside the campsites. There is a nice country themed restaurant called Farmers Inn located about a mile SE. of the campground. Also at Farmers Inn are golf driving range, mini golf, bulk store, ice cream parlor and animal feed area.
I believe this is a non-pet campground. The road to the park (route 949) is about 4 miles from the main route route 36. It does have one rather steep hill just before the entrance of the state park. The road thru the park is rather narrow and if you have a rig over 12' tall you will have to pay attention to branches. It is about a mile from the park entrance to the campsites.
Over-all a very quite park that stays full most of the summer especially the weekends.
Be going here for 25 years.....so we must like it. No cell service (Verizon), can get a signal about 1/2 mile outside the park on 949.
